( "I know Kol. You can't solve this with gifts, tell her what you told me now, explain to her how it is and you'll see."
"Ok, I'll take your advice. I think you're always right. Thank you darling."
"You could tell Niklaus that I'm always right.")

Hailey pov:

I was lying on the couch with Klaus and we were cuddling.
Upstairs, my tribrid hearing hears the creak of the bed and banging against the wall.

"I heard Kol took my advice and reconciled with Devina."
"Do you want to drown them out?"
He raised his eyebrows at me seductively and pursed his lips.
"I wanted to say that only after the wedding, but it's too late for that, isn't it?"

"Don't tell me you believe in a bearded man sitting on a cloud."
"I happen to be quite religious."
"Seriously and who in the god of vampires and killing?"
"Ha ha that's not funny Nik."
"Okay so what do you want to do my baby girl?"

"I have an idea!"
I shouted it in total energy.
"I'm listening, love."
"We should go on a family trip."
"And why?"
"Well, since we should be spending time as a family, finally nothing is attacking us and nothing terrible is happening, we have to take advantage of it."

"Just the two of us?"
"No, you, me, Rebekah, Elijah, Amy, Kol and Devina."
"But we're a family, so we don't have to go on a trip."
"But we have to, please Klaus don't be a cracker."
"Fine."
He rolled his eyes.
"Look at the effect I have on you baby."
"Yes I see, my room has become feminine too. One Direction, seriously?"
"If you listened to them at least once, you would change your mind."
"I doubt it, but okay."
He gave me a kiss on the lips to keep me quiet.
"God I'm so happy."
"And from what?"
"That I have you, love."
I raised my head from his chest and caressed his cheek.

I stood up and went to call everyone.
I stood in the middle of the living room and screamed.

"Come here everyone and bring Devina and Amy too."

In a moment, everyone gathered here.

"You called us what's up princess?"
"Yeah, you just interrupted us with something, darling."

"How about a little family trip?"
I said this with complete enthusiasm in my voice.

"That sounds amazing." Rebekah, Devina, and Amy said together.

"See Klaus, I told you they would love it. What about you guys?"
"Well you have to go, it's family and that means family."

"I have nothing against."
"Me neither, I'm in."

"Klaus, I think we outvoted you. You're going."
"Don't pretend you didn't know I was coming anyway. You're a terrible influence on me."

I punched him in the chest, but immediately kissed the affected area.

"Okay guys go pack up we're leaving in an hour."
"And where are we going?"
"This will be a surprise, but I'll tell you, take your bathing suit."
I winked at Klaus.

"Nick what do you think? Red swimsuit or black? I can't decide."
My red swimsuit was a two-piece with a high neckline and side ties, and a black one-piece with side cutouts.

"Red goes to your tribrid eyes."
He grinned at me and I threw a towel at him.
"Can I menstruate as a tribrid?"
"Um... I don't know love, why are you asking?"
"Because as a person I should get it in a week and we're going for two weeks."

"Oh, you better take your pads and stuff with you."
"But I don't know, because I haven't had my period since the transformation, but now I feel like I always have it."
"Ask Freya how it works.'

In the car:

"Where are we going darling?"
"Tell us already Hai."
"You'll see when we arrive, don't worry, I've planned everything."
"In one hour?"
"No, I've been planning this trip for a month now."
I smiled at them and stuck out my tongue at Kol.
He grabbed my hand and didn't want to let go. Elijah just shook his head and Devina laughed.

"Klaus...he doesn't want to let me go."
I complained and pursed my lips.
"But she stuck her tongue out at me."
"You deserved it."
I snorted and looked pleadingly at Klaus.
He looked away from the road.

"Kol let her go."
There was laughter in his voice. He laughed at me.
"Hey Klaus, don't laugh. It's not funny."
I slapped him on the shoulder.
"It is, love."
Kol finally let go of me and I glared at him.

On the place:

"We're here."
"Finally."
I pointed to a large lake house on the outskirts of Chicago.
This house belonged to my parents.
You probably think I didn't know them, but the Mikaelsons helped me find them. Their names were Emma and Jacob Carter.
My father was a werewolf and my mother became a vampire after I was born.
Both are no longer alive.
The only thing they told me was that I should come here when I need it and they gave me the keys to the house by the lake.

"How many rooms does it have?"
"Four bedrooms, two or three bathrooms, a living room connected to the kitchen, a hot tub on the terrace and a jetty to this cottage."

"My love, that must have cost you a lot of money."
"No, it belonged to my parents."
"Ah."

"So go ahead and unpack."
I ushered them in and showed them the bedrooms.
Klaus and I had the main one, which also had a bathroom.
