Jamie and Eddie 'Jamko' One shots

Keeping the Faith

Intro/Summary-- Eddie and Badillo are on the scene of a domestic case along with Danny, Joe and Jamie. Jamie suddenly gets hit by the perp's gun when shots start getting fired. Eddie is in shock but rushes to her husbands side. Will Jamie survive?

As the five of them arrived on the scene, they all took caution knowing the perp had a gun. Jamie led the group, then there was Danny and Joe and Eddie and Badillo close behind. They can hear the perp screaming at the woman, but as soon as Joe starts to stand up from behind a basket- shots start getting fired. Jamie stands first and begins to fire back, along with Danny. Eddie watches as her heart beats out of her chest. A stray bullet from the perp suddenly hit Jamie as the perp speeds off in his boat.
"NOOO!" Eddie cried out
Eddie is in shock when Jamie falls to the ground. She quickly put her gun away and runs to his side
"I'm okay" Jamie tried to say to comfort her
"is he hit?" Danny asked Eddie
Eddie can barely see through her tears as she tries frantically to get his shirt and vest undone
"oh my god" she said when she felt the blood
"how bad?" Danny asked rushing over
"Jamie stay with me!" she said
"1013 we have an officer hit! 1013 send a bus asap!!!" Joe said
"Jamie stay with me" she begged
"we don't have time for bus. He's hit under his vest!!" Danny said
"help me get him up Eddie" Danny said
"you're gonna be okay.... okay?" she said
"I'll meet you guys at the hospital" Badillo and Joe said
Jamie moaned uncomfortably as they tried to lay him in the backseat. Eddie stayed in the back of Danny's car and laid his head in her lap.
"hey Jamie keep your eyes open okay? Just keep listening to my voice.... okay sweetheart?" she said
"hang on you two. I'm gonna speed!" Danny said
Eddie noticed he was bleeding a lot so she had taken her own uniform off and tried soaking up the blood. Jamie was coughing and shivering.
"I know, I know. Hang in there. Fight for me" Eddie said as she held his hand
"Danny hurry! He's closing his eyes!" she said
"I'm going as fast as I can Eddie" he said
"Jamie... Jamie! Can you hear me!?" she asked frantically
"squeeze my hand if you can hear me" she said
Her crying became more hysterical as Jamie became unresponsive. Finally twenty minutes later and they arrived at the hospital. Danny pulled his car up to where the ambulances went. Eddie helped get him out of the car and onto the stretcher.
"Jamie, fight for us! Fight!!! Come on Jamie" Eddie said as they ran back to the trauma rooms
"take care of him! That's my brother!" Danny said
"we will do everything we can" a nurse said as they were both pushed out of the room
"Danny I can't lose him!" She cried
"hey hey, shhh. Jamie's gonna be okay" Danny said as he held Eddie

A few hours later and still no word from a Doctor. Joe and Badillo had shown up and Eddie was glad he was there.
"how is he?" Badillo asked
"we don't know anything. They just took him back" Danny said
"where's your shirt?" Badillo asked Eddie
"he was bleeding in the car" she said
It was endless pacing back and forth and Jamie's family and Badillo tried to patiently wait. Finally a Doctor came out
"are you the Reagan family? Mrs. Reagan?" he said
"that's me. I'm his wife" Eddie said
"we finally got him stable. He's lost a lot of blood. We are getting ready to operate. He has one bullet lodged in his spine" he said
"what does that mean?" Eddie asked
"you can take it out right?" Erin asked
"we can try to remove the bullet but due to the amount of blood loss already and where the bullet hit, there is always the chance he could be paralyzed when he wakes up" he said
"would anyone like to see him? He's sleepy but awake" he said
"I do" Eddie said
"just for a moment, come on" he said
Eddie tried to prepare herself as she nervously walked back to the trauma room. Jamie was laying on the bed. He had his shirt off and a sheet was covering him. Tubes and wires were connected everywhere
"hi" she said
"Eddie" he tried to talk
"hey it's okay. It's all gonna be okay" she said
"I... I'm scared" Jamie said
"I know, so am I. I'm terrified, but you're gonna be fine. I promise!!" she said
She was holding his hand tightly and kissed him gently
"I love you" she said
Jamie was exhausted and in pain so it was hard to talk. Five minutes later they took him to surgery and Eddie let out a good cry before going back to his family.

More hours of endless waiting... Eddie had ready every magazine probably three times and now she was growing impatient. She was about to head to the vending machine's with Erin when a doctor finally came out
"just... say it" Eddie said nervously
"we were able to remove the bullet successfully and he's resting comfortably" he said
"and his spine?" Henry asked
"we won't know the amount of damage done until he fully wakes up" he said
"when can I see him?" Eddie asked
"soon. He is being transferred to the ICU unit and I'll have a nurse come and get you" he said
"thanks Doc" Henry said
         Another half an hour but finally a nurse comes into the waiting room
"Mrs. Reagan?" she said
"we just got your husband moved. Would you like to come and see him?" she asked
"yes... and his family?" Eddie asked
"just you go first Eddie. We'll see him after we give you two some time" Danny said
         Eddie walked nervously behind the nurse and she sat beside him
"he may still be drowsy but he should fully wake up soon" she said
"thanks" Eddie said
  She held his hand as she sat beside him. He was getting a blood transfusion from all the blood loss and he still had wires everywhere.
"hi sweetheart" she said
"Eddie?" Jamie tried to wake up slowly
"Hi" she said
"water... can I have some water?" he asked her
"yea here" she said
"how do you feel?" she asked
"in pain. Sore" he said
"I was so worried about you" she said
"I'm okay" he tried to say
Eddie was just happy to see him awake and moving. He hadn't stood up and walked yet but his arms moved fine.
"where... where is everyone? Did anyone else get hurt?" he asked
"no... your families outside. They told me to come see you first" she said
"I'm just so happy to see you awake... I... I wasn't ready to say goodbye yet" she said
"you can't get rid of me that easily" he said
"I love you" she said
"I love you too" Jamie said
          He reached his arm up to gently touch her face and stroke her blonde hair. After a little while she laid down on him. She was exhausted so they just held each other for a while.

          Around dinner time they ate the crappy hospital food and Jamie's family had piled in the room as well. Everyone was glad to see Jamie awake and talking. They stayed for a few hours but left around seven when visiting hours ended. Eddie was allowed to stay so the nurse gave her a blanket and pillow- although she actually crawled into the bed with Jamie.
"goodnight"'she said
"goodnight baby, I love you" he said
"I love you too" she said as she gently kissed him
        They fell asleep wrapped in each other's arms.

Hope you enjoyed this one and enjoyed the premiere! I know this is a shorter one but I feel like we got robbed of a Jamko scene of Eddie seeing him after surgery.
