Intro/Summary-- Eddie goes on to Jamie about how he was unfair to Officer Diaz, and Jamie is confused about why she cares so much until he learns her secret

"Eddie we already had this conversation like a million times. You aren't even that close to Diaz so what's the matter?" Jamie asked sort of annoyed
"I just know he's a great cop and you're being totally unfair" she said
"Eddie would you just give it a rest? I'm the Sergeant now. I give orders and I don't reverse rips for any reason" he said
"you know what Jamie? Fine. Just wait here" she said as she ran to the bedroom
Eddie came back and handed Jamie a small gift bag
"what is this?" Jamie asked
"it was supposed to be apart of your birthday next week. Just open it and it'll make sense" she said
Jamie took out the tissue paper and saw a little silver box at the bottom of the bag with a little card that read
'Happy Birthday Dad! Can't wait to meet you'
He opened the box and saw a plastic white stick with two blue lines. Eddie was pregnant.
"oh my god, is this real!?" he asked
"no I bought a fake one offline" she laughed
"of course it's real!" she said
"I can't believe you're pregnant!!!" he said
"we're gonna be parents" he said
"now do you see why I was defending Diaz wife? I'm gonna be the one whose sick in the morning and yes most of the time I'll handle it but I might need you sometimes" she said
"of course I will be here for you Eddie. I'm always here for you, I love you" he said
"I love you too, happy early birthday by the way" she said
"I can't believe you're pregnant!!" he said as he hugged her again
"have you made the ultrasound yet?" he asked
"no, I figured we could to that together" she said
"I love you so much" he said
"I love you too" she said

Later that day they both had to go to work and Jamie had called Diaz back into his office
"you wanna see me boss?" Diaz asked
"I was on time today, early actually" he said
"I know you were and I wanted to apologize for my behavior yesterday" Jamie said
"no need. You're the boss and you're just doing you're job" he said
"yea well I do need to apologize. I'm sorry and if you can not be late the rest of the year, I'll take your rip away" Jamie said
"seriously? Thanks" Diaz said
"can I ask what changed?" Diaz asked
"well you and me will be in the same boat pretty soon. Eddie just told me she's pregnant" Jamie said
"really? That's awesome! You guys will be amazing parents" he said
"thanks, I hope so... and do you mind not spreading this around the precinct yet? We haven't even had our ultrasound yet" Jamie said
"of course. Your secrets safe with me, and if you and Eddie ever need anything- let us know" Diaz said
"thank you, we will. I was pretty surprised when she told me but we're excited" Jamie said

A few days later was Eddie's ultrasound appointment. They were both nervous as they filled out paperwork.
"is you're hand sweating or is it me?" Eddie said as she was holding the pen
"try to relax. I'm sure everything will be perfectly normal" Jamie said
Eddie turned the clipboard back into the front desk and then they just waited a little longer
"Edit Reagan" a Doctor said
"hello, my name is Maddie. I'll be your Doctor" Maddie said
"I'm Eddie and this is my husband Jamie" Eddie said
"nice to meet you" Jamie said
"so is this your guys first?" Maddie asked
"yea, we're nervous but excited!" Eddie said
"well Eddie lets get some vitals and then we'll get started on the ultrasound" she said
Eddie got on the table and Jamie was beside her as they took her blood pressure and checked her pulse
"everything looks normal. Good blood pressure, heart rates good" she said
"if you'll just lie back for me Eddie and pull your shirt up to under your bra for me" she said
Eddie did what she said and Jamie was beside her holding her hand
"sorry if the gel's a little cold" she said pouring some cool gel onto Eddie's stomach
"alright lets find the heart beat" Maddie said
Eddie and Jamie were both staring at the monitor and Eddie almost cried when they finally got the heart beat
"and there we are" Maddie said happily
"aww Jamie look!!!" Eddie said
"it's still early to tell a lot of details but there is your guys little one!" Maddie said
"so she's okay?" Eddie asked
"looks perfectly healthy to me. Nice strong heart beat too" Maddie said
"I'm assuming you two would like pictures?" she asked
"yes pease!!" Eddie said with a huge smile
"there's a towel behind the bed for you to get cleaned up with. Let me get the photos for you both" she said
Eddie sat up and wiped the gel off her stomach and Jamie hugged her
"I can't believe you have a little person inside of you. What are you hoping for?" he asked her
"I'm hoping for a girl" she said
"oh you know that girl will be a miniature you" Jamie laughed
"so whats wrong with that!?" Eddie said
"I don't think I could take that much attitude in one house" Jamie laughed
Eddie playfully smacked his shoulder and they were both laughing
"alright here are your photos. You can either book another appointment up front or call back later. Congratulations to both of you" Maddie said
"thank you!" Eddie said
"yea thanks!" Jamie also said
"so family dinner's this weekend do we plan to tell everyone or wait?" Jamie asked as they walked to their car
"probably wait at least until the next appointment" Eddie said
"they'll ask why you aren't drinking" he said
"I'll just say my migraines got bad and I'm starting a new medications" she said
"that could work" Jamie said
       They left the hospital and Eddie just stared at the photo's on the way home
