Chapter Two

Blood.

After we visited Aemma we parted ways to get ready Rhea was ready way before I was so I sent her on, I couldn't help but feel something great was about to happen, something that would change everything for the better, or worse.

A knock at the door then someone entering equally as fast didn't give me time to even move so I simply folded my hands ready to give off to whoever dared to enter

"Can I help you?" I snapped only to realise it was the prince

"I got word someone was in here I thought it was another ma-"

"Call me that and I'll tear your tongue from your loud mouth" I smirked before bending my knees and head "your grace" I said as my hair fell to the front of my face I looked back up at him who was just staring at me "see something you like?" I teased despite his reputation I had a feeling he wouldn't harm me or my future plus Rheanyra would kill him

"I-I wanted to make sure you were safe" he uttered

"We'll as you can see your grace I am and don't lie you were gawking" I smirk looking down at my three perfect choices of dressed trying hard to pick one I hummed to fill the silence

"I was not gawking as you put it princess" I let out a chuckle

"I do believe his grace has a bit of drool just there" I pointed to the top of my lip gesturing to him, he smirked and pointed down at one of the dresses while his and I eyes remained focused on one another

Until another knock on my door made us part ways him by his dragon coming to my window and me by sending him off with a smile while he kissed the knuckles of my hand

I quickly threw on the dress Daemon had picked and opened the door to see the king I bowed to which he stopped by holding me in place "you are a gift from the gods you need not bow to me" I smiled at him as he held out his hand I took it as we walked out back to the king who simply shook his head at my habit of actually standing his brother or maybe he just missed me since earlier. I simply smiled once more and took his hand and we left laughing together

We reached our destination and the king kissed the other hand that daemon didn't and we shared a smile as he held onto my hand

"What took you and Rheanyra so long? It was quite late" he asked

"We went to see Aemma- i apologise the queen" I smiled as he rubbed my knuckles

"She made you call her Aemma again didn't she" he smiled at his wife already knowing

"Yep" I said as we shared a laugh

"You did the exact same when she had you call her it the first time" i gave him a puzzled look "you acted as if you didn't deserve to call her by name" I smiled sheepishly "go have fun with Rhea" he stated I nodded and walked from him just in time for Rhea to give her favour to Ser Criston Cole I chuckled at her as she turned to see me

"Thank the gods you are here what took you so long?" She asked curiosity running across her face

"Yes you did take a while" Allicent said I nodded

"Ah Alicent hello" I said boredom interlaced with each word I looked away from the pair in time to see Prince Daemon come up for his favour the three of us walked over to the railing

"Do you really believe you are to win Uncle?" Rhea asked looking at me I glanced at her

"I have no doubt but just in case" he held his stick first pointing it at Allicent

Then he steadied it towards me I gave him a smile

"Of course my prince" I went and got my flower crown and placed it on the stick "better win now" I smirked

"Of course for you princess" he winked before riding to his starting line

"Imagine his face if he loses" I stated

"I beat ten he does" I laughed at the kings comment

"I bet twenty and an entire day of fun for Rhea and I that he wins" I told the king who smiled at me

"You sure you want to do that princess?"

"Two days" I said proudly "no interruptions" I added " and absolutely no men" he laughed

"It is a bet" he stated

"No jest?" I asked

"I'm serious Daphne just remember what happens if my brother loses" we shared a nod and I turned back to daemon

"If you uncle loses I swear I shall kill him with my own hands" I stated earning a look from Allicent "what!" I yelled looking straight at her

"What-"

"Your face fix it." I stated looking back to see Daemons opponent staring at me I simply smiled and waxed and seems that daemon noticed it too Along with the man staring holes in me because a second later the man was defeated so much so that daemon bate his head in with a helmet he smirked as he took the flower crown off his stick and placed it on his head to signal he was mine I chuckled to myself before turning to the king

"So I'll take those two days and thirty whenever your ready your grace" he chuckled

"Fine fine a deal is a deal" he whispered to a man to have the gold delivered to my room I bowed gracefully

"Thank you" I smiled and went back to the tournament Ser Cristion Cole was next this would be the one to count especially considering Daemon was still fighting with my flower crown on his head although the red flowers did suit his perfect face and match the blood all around him he noticed my staring and smirked before knocking Ser Cristion Cole to the ground thinking his victory was his here until Cole dragged him to the ground Daemon only laughed while being punched I got distracted by a maid coming into the king obviously his messenger was busy the king glanced at me then at Rhea and nodded to me telling me it was all to be okay.
I went back to watching Daemon covered in blood.
