"We need a shroud" Percy said with a crack in his voice as he looked to the deities around him. "A shroud for the son of Hermes"

Annabeth curled into Grover, tired sobs wracking her body. Her whole body ached and her shoulder was dislocated. They were all in varying levels of pain.

"You're okay" Grover said gently, rubbing the younger girl's back. He hadn't seen her quite like this since she was little. It hurt to see, but he kept a strong face for her. "You did so good, Annabeth"

"L-Luke, he's-"

"I know" the satyr soothed, rocking her back and forth. Percy was silently grateful that he was sitting with her like that. Normally, he would've gone over to calm her down himself, but he was preoccupied with the impromptu funeral at hand. "But, he died a hero... He won't suffer"

"I don't know- I-"

"Deep breaths, Annabeth" Grover continued to soothe. "We're safe. You'll probably see him again in a year or so, given our track record"

"Grover..."

"I'm proud of you, okay?" he asked, getting a weak smile from his friend in response.

"I'm proud of you too"
