" can you blame me? "

"How's your
headache, mum?"

Y/N's phone was clutched between her shoulder and ear. She just completed her work and decided to talk to her mother. Kuroo's offer had been floating around in her mind ever since that morning.

"I took the medicine.
So, feeling better."

She placed the laptop and charger at the table. She sighed exasperatedly at her mother.

"Just how many times
have I told you to
dry your hair properly
before sleeping."

Her mother chuckled at her scolding tone. Her daughter has always been a worrywart for her. Her worry increased after her father's demise and her shift to Tokyo.

"Sorry, sorry. Sometimes
I think I am not
your mom. You are mine."

This made her chuckle along with her mother. Y/N could hear the clanking of utensils, deducing that her mother was cooking. The feeling of guilt crept in her heart as she didn't want to leave her mother alone. But her mother insisted that her not spend her life with her.

"How are you,
by the way?"

She sighed deeply and laid down on the bed. Her hand was caressing her stomach.

"I had my checkup
in the morning. It went
well."

"That's good. Did the doctor
told you about anything to
avoid?"

"Oh yeah, stairs. She said
my blood pressure is low.
So, I should avoid stairs."

"But isn't your apartment
on the second floor?"

She sat up and leaned against the headboard.

"That's what I want to talk
to you about. I asked Kuroo
for a first-floor apartment."

"Oh. Kuroo-kun?"

She chewed her lips, and instinctively, her fingers played with the hem of her dress.

"Yeah. So... you know..
He asked me to move in
with him."

Her voice lowered down.

"Oh?"

She didn't know why her mother sounded amused.

"He said that it's better than
to live alone in a different
place. If there's any emergency,
he'll be there."

"Hmmm. And what did
you say?"

"I said I'll think about it.
But honestly, I don't
know now."

Her voice trailed off. She rested her forehead on her knees and sighed. She felt conflicted. On one hand, she was relieved to have her friend help her. But on the other hand, she didn't want to trouble him anymore.

"Well, it's Kuroo-kun. So,
I don't see any problem.
He's right. It'll be difficult
to live alone. You also have
your job. So, it's better to
live with someone. And
I know Kuroo-kun well
enough. So, I think you
should move in."
