"Want to hang out?"

I hum thoughtfully, turning my head from one side to the other and watching my reflection as I purse my lips. Lucy snickers.

"Please! What better do you have to do other than your own personal sex God?" She asks in a dreamy voice before cursing. "He's there, isn't he?"

I laugh as I fall onto my bed. "Actually he just left. And I don't 'do' him."

"Oh really," She giggles. "And what happened prior to him leaving?"

"Well it's kind of a complicated story," I sit back up. "So about hanging out..."

"I'll be there in three minutes," I hear shuffling on her end of the line. "We'll go to Starbucks; I've been dying for one of their coffees!"

Lucy has an obsession with Starbucks, and not a good one either. When she's happy, sad, angry or depressed, the only answer is Starbucks, Ben and Jerry's taking second place.

"Right," I sigh dramatically. "We can't have you dying."

"Glad you understand, Mel." She laughs. "I'll see you soon."

"Tootles."

I search for a table while Lucy heads to the counter to order our drinks. I find a secluded booth at the back of the shop and sit down just as Lucy walks over.

"That was fast," I comment as she passes me my iced chocolate. I immediately stick my tongue into the whipped cream.

"I'm just too cool to have to wait," She jokes as she falls into the seat opposite me, her long brown curls bouncing after her.

"Or just too impatient," I suggest.

"However way you go about it," She laughs before turning serious. "Now that I have my coffee, I'm ready for this complicated story."

"Okay," I sigh, putting down my drink and giving the story my full attention. "So get this right, my dad walked in on Jaidyn sucking my neck."

"No way," Her mouth stays open. "What happened?"

"Well at first he seemed really angry..."

"But your dad is your dad," She points out stupidly. "I mean, he's like the king of joking or something. Surely he wasn't really angry?"

"It seems like everyone knew this but me," I roll my eyes. "I thought he was serious when he called Jaidyn into the kitchen. It turns out that they've had a bet going since Jaidyn and I were eleven, dad saying we'd be a couple by the end of high school."

"No way!" She repeats.

"Yes way," I pick up my iced chocolate again. "So Jaidyn coughed up a twenty and tada, dad thinks we're dating."

"That's not that bad," She shrugs. "It could be worse. Wouldn't you rather have him thinking you're in a relationship with Jaidyn instead of knowing you're actually his best friend that comes with benefits?"

"Hey," I frown. "The way you say it makes it sound like he's only my best friend because of the 'benefits'."

"No, no, no," She shakes her head. "That's not what I meant at all. But your dad doesn't know the story, heck I don't know the whole story. What would your dad think?"

I understand what she means. If we did tell my dad the truth, we'd have to be really careful about how we'd say it, otherwise his opinion on Jaidyn would change drastically.

"You're right," I agree. "And no way am I telling him the story."

"Tell me the story," She insists, sipping her coffee. "I only recall you saying something about a challenge and a hard on."

"Please," I laugh. "I gave you more details then that."

"Well I don't remember them," She smirks. "So tell me again."

"Fine," I look around us, making sure no one is in hearing range, especially anyone from school. "We were watching TV and we had it on the E channel."

"Oh, I love E!" She interrupts and I playfully glare at her.

"E was showing a documentary on Angelina Jolie, and she was talking while on the red carpet." I explain.

"What was she saying?" I roll my eyes. "Sorry, sorry! Continue!"

"She was talking about her new movie... I forget which movie it was; we're talking a couple of years back here." I rack my brains for the movie but find nothing. "And she was saying how it's hard to be sexy and seductive, but she likes tough jobs."

"I bet she does," Lucy mutters and I laugh.

"That's exactly what I said to Jaidyn. He laughed and then I told him I think it's ridiculous how superstars think their work is so hard when really it isn't. I told him it's easy to be seductive." I laugh at the memory, shaking my head. "You can guess what happened next, right?"

"You both fucked?" She asks jokingly and I throw her a disgusted look.

"I'm not a slut. I've never fucked Jaidyn."

"I know," She grins. "But who's to say it won't happen soon enough?"

"Anyway, since you wouldn't be able to guess right for you're life," I say dramatically, flipping my blonde hair for affect. "He told me it probably was hard. I still disagreed, and told him I'd prove it was easy."

"You didn't?" She asks in disbelief and I laugh nervously.

"I did. He accepted the challenge and so I climbed right on top of him."

"Oh God,"

"I started kissing his jaw, and licking down his neck." I bite my lip as I recall the memory. "He had no shirt on, which made things easier."

"Wait, so how many years ago was this?" She wonders, her hands out ready to do the math.

"Three years ago," I grin sheepishly.

"You guys were fourteen?" She asks a look of shock on her face.

"Don't judge," I defend, using Jaidyn's words. "Fate wants what fate wants."

"Go on with the story," She demands excitedly.

"I reached his chest, and I continued my way to his nipples..."

"You dirty girl!" She laughs.

"I licked, kissed, bit," I list off the things. "I could feel him hard underneath me already. But I still went further down."

"Did you give him he-"

"No!" I shake my head, my eyes wide. "Remember, at first this was just a challenge. It wasn't serious."

"Right," She leans closer in. "What happened next, then?"

"He grabbed my head, stopping me. He told me that I won," I grin. "Like I didn't already know by his groaning and moaning."

A waiter with short brown hair and blue eyes walks over, a pad in his hands. We immediately stop talking; only now realizing that from our excitement, we're both leaning far over the table.

"Can I help you girls with anything?" His eyes move from me to Lucy, and I watch in suspicion as his eyes light up.

"Yes please," Lucy grins. "I'll take the same again. Do you want another drink, Melissa?"

I hold my drink up, shaking my head no. "I'm still good."

"Alright, I'll bring that to you in no time." He smiles at Lucy, nodding his head at me before he's off.

"Since when do Starbucks have waiters?" I ask Lucy, raising my eyebrows.

"They don't," She shrugs, looking down at her empty cup. "He's just really nice."

"A little too nice," I wink at her and she scoffs.

"You think that about every guy that is nice to me," She tells me. "Last month you told me my mail boy had a thing for me. I asked him out and it turns out he's gay!"

I burst out laughing. "I'm sorry! I guess I'm bad at reading boys."

"You can say that again," She laughs with me. "Back to the story."

"Okay," I sigh, getting back into story mode. "I kept teasing him, despite already proving my point. I brought my tongue down really low. His hands were on my head, keeping it there... It sounds weird but it made the moment sexier."

"It sounds sexy," As she says this the same boy comes back with her drink. She blushes, knowing he would have heard her words. "Thanks, Chris."

"No problem," He grins and she tries to hand him the money for the three drinks but he refuses to take it. "It's on the house." He winks before leaving.

"Wow," I laugh. "He doesn't like you at all."

"Ha ha," She mutters sarcastically, frowning. "Knowing my luck, I'll ask him out and he'll admit he is really a she."

I can’t refrain myself from bursting out in giggles. After Lucy finally manages to calm me down, I continue where I left off. "After I was satisfied with all of his reactions I wasn't as serious about it. It turned fun. I ran my tongue back up his body and when I reached his jaw I kissed along it again." I shrug. "Pretty much simple things. But when I finally pulled away and looked at him, he wasn't grinning like I thought he would be."

"What was he doing?" She asks curiously.

"He looked like he was debating on something."

"And then what?"

"And then he cupped my cheeks and slammed his lips down on mine."

"Whoa..." She takes a big gulp of her coffee. "That's hot."

"It was," I finish the rest of my drink.

"I was actually talking about my drink," She bursts out in laughter. "But we can use it as a pun."

"Oh," I blush.

"Were things awkward after that?" She asks once she has her laughter under control.

"Not at all," I frown. "It probably should have been. But after we kissed and he ran his hands along my body, we pulled away and grinned at each other before we continued watching t.v."

"It sounds like it really was fate," She muses. "It happened, and so casually." It becomes quiet for a little while, each in our own thoughts before she asks, "Who kissed who the second time?"

"The second kiss was different, kind of random." She nods in understanding. "I was at my locker and he just appeared out of nowhere. Before we knew it we were both kissing."

"I want a Jaidyn," She sighs dreamily. "Where can I find one?"

"At your kindergarten, sitting in the naughty corner and waiting to pull your pigtails." I joke and she laughs.

"Too bad my kindergarten burnt down."

The rest of our time at Starbucks was spent drinking coffee and iced chocolates, and me making suggestive remarks about Lucy and coffee boy.

"I'll meet you at our lockers tomorrow morning," I tell her as I get in my car, winding the window down. "Be there at a quarter past eight."

She nods, bending down and kissing my cheek. "Will do. See you tomorrow."

"Bye!"

I open the door to be met with dad lounging on the couch.

"What're you doing home?" I ask curiously as I close the front door. I sit down beside him and pull out the pink sprinkled donut I'd stopped to buy him on the way home. "It was for later, but I guess you can have it now."

"Thanks, mom." He teases, taking the donut from me. "Let me guess, you just had a Starbucks session with Lucy?"

"How'd you know?"

"You stink of their wood." I shake my head as he insists it's true.

"Dad listen," I start seriously. "About Jaidyn..." He immediately frowns, yet continues to eat his donut.

"Why didn't you tell me? I love Jaidyn like a son, you weren't seriously afraid I'd be angry, right?" He asks and I frown.

"No, it's not that. I guess I was just," I struggle for an excuse. "I'm not use to it yet myself. I wanted to adjust to it before we made it public."

"Honey that's fine," He insists, patting my leg. "You do what's best for you."

"Thanks, dad." I lean down and hug him, holding him tight.

"That Jaidyn's a hot, sizzling piece of meat, hey?" Hey asks in a high pitched girly voice.

"Oh my God," I shake my head. "Mom turned you gay, didn't she?"

"She was bad in-"

"Whoa," I hold my hand up, shaking my head furiously. "Stop right there."

"Only if you make me a warm Milo." He grins, his eyebrows raised. I groan.

"You're annoying."

"You're annoying," He mimics before pushing me off the couch. "Make me a Milo!" I shake my head in disbelief.

“And you’re the parental figure?”
