It was a new week which meant a whole new routine to compete at another competition, the week went by fast, and I was ready for the competition. As usual me and mom arrived at the competition location a day early, so we found a small room for me to practice my solo in
The next day was the competition, I was nervous, but ready. As I was waiting to go on I saw some of the girls who danced before me and they were all amazing, I just hope I do well enough that I win
Announcer: Please welcome to the stage in the mini solo category, number 214 Y/N with 'the show'
As I was dancing I could hear cheers from the audience which made me give more than I already was. Everyone clapped as I finished my dance, now it's the waiting game
For this competition they don't announce awards until the end, so me and my mom decided to get some food and watch some of the other dancers perform.
I looked around the audience as we were waiting for them to start the next category, and I spotted the woman who talked to us at the last competition, I think her name was Gianna, I can't remember, she spotted me from her seat and waved over to me which instinctually made me wave back
Danielle: Who are you waving at sweetie?
Y/N: The woman we met at the last comp, the one that asked if we wanted to look at a dance studio
Danielle: Alright, I actually need to talk to her, I want to see if you can take some advanced classes
Y/N: Really?
Danielle: Yeah, I think it's time for you to learn some harder stuff, also it would be good for you to learn from other teachers
Y/N: Thanks mom
After a while of watching dances, a dance called Electricity came out and I noticed two of them competed in the solo category. The dance itself was a bit disturbing and inappropriate for young girls, what dance school was this.
It was now time for awards and let me tell you I was nervous.
Announcer: In second place we have number 205 Maddie with 'Cry'
I clapped for the girl even though it made me more nervous as she was really good
Announcer: And your first-place winner is number 214 Y/N with 'The show'
Hearing my name made me really happy, I went up to get my award with a smile on my face, one of the judges placed a sash around me and put a crown on my head whilst the announcer crouched down to my height
Announcer: Is there anything you would like to say?
Y/N: Thank you for the opportunity to perform for you all today and I would also like to thank my mom for choreographing my solo and making my costume.
Yes, I say the same thing at every competition, it's just easier
As we were getting ready to leave, Gianna came over to us
Gianna: Hi, it's so great to see you again, you did amazing today Y/N, congratulations
Y/N: Thank you
Gianna: Are you in a rush or can you spare a few minutes?
Danielle: We're in no rush
Gianna: Great, are you able to come with me?
Danielle: Yeah, everything's packed up
Gianna: Follow me
We followed Gianna to a room backstage that said ALDC on the door
Gianna: Just wait outside for a sec whilst I go get Abby
Gianna's POV
I walked into the dressing room to find all the girls and their mothers, and Abby
Gianna: Hey Abby, can you come outside for a second?
All the mothers looked at me curious to know what's going on, nothing new there
Abby: Yeah
Y/N's POV
Gianna came back out with another woman, who I presume was Abby
Abby: Hi, I'm Abby
Danielle: I'm Danielle and this is my daughter Y/N
Abby: Nice to meet you, and can I just say you were amazing today, definitely deserved the win, how old are you sweetie?
Y/N: Thank you and I'm 7 years old
Abby: That is really impressive for an 7-year-old, some of the teenagers I train can't even do that, who teaches you?
Y/N: My mom
Danielle: I teach her, I've been teaching her since she could walk, I was a dancer growing up, but stopped when I had Y/N
Abby: Well, here is my card as Gianna has told you before I own a dance studio and I would like for you guys to come and try out for the competition team, I think you will be an excellent addition
Y/N: Thank you
Abby: Your welcome sweetie, hopefully we'll see you soon
After saying goodbye, we started to make our way home, but of course we had to make a pit stop for food to celebrate my win since its tradition.
