Luz POV
Saturday
As we were leaving the club, we all talked about where we should go next and eventually a cliff overlooking a lake won so we all piled Willows car and she drove us there. We got there around 1:00AM so it was pretty late and really dark since it was a new moon
"We're here guys" Willow said tiredly
"Finally" I said kind of annoyed that it took 30 minutes to get here
"Why did we come here if it's such a long drive" I asked
"Because this is where we decided to go? I dunno, it has a good view of the lake and it's pretty secluded." Willow gave me something of an answer
"Could we just go get high?" Amity asked impatiently "I had a pretty sucky day and I just wanna hurry up and forget it"
"Well that's the entire reason we're here so I'd hope that you wanna get high." I said jokingly, she didn't find it too funny and just glared at me
"Okay, Okay, jeez stop it with the death glare, let's go" I said quickly
Timeskip to when they're on top of the cliff
"Holy shit, I know you said it had a good view but this is incredible" I said breathless, it was a lot lighter up here for some reason, I don't know if it was the stars but everything seemed to be brighter (see top picture for reference)
"Yeah, this view has always been amazing, though I haven't been here in a few months" Willow responded to me as she was taking out the baggie, filled with a totally undisclosed substance
"Now are you two ready?" Willow asked with a smirk
"Thats a dumb question and you know it, im always ready." I answered excited
"Duh, why would I not be?" Amity answered impatiently
Timeskip 10 minutes to when they just got everything ready to start and Luz lights one of them and taked a long first puff
"Finally" Luz sighed out "Why the fuck did that take us ten minutes to roll up some paper with weed in it?"
"Because of how fucking much you tried to pack into it dumbass." Willow said already having smoked her entire blunt somehow
"WILLOW WTF?!" I asked astonished as to how she's already higher than the clouds when we just finished rolling them up "WE JUST MADE THEM! YOU FINISHED YOURS IN LESS THAN A MINUTE, DID YOU FUCKING SWALLOW IT OR SOMETHING?" I said incredibly confused
"I have big lungs" Willow giggled out, already really high
"Jesus christ Willow" Luz said facepalming
"Ah don't worry she's always been like that" Amity said while Willow seemed to be distracted by a 'talking flower'
"She's always had a knack for finishing blunts waaaayy to fast, like inhumanly fast." Amity continued
"Weird, but impressive" I say taking another drag
"she's gonna have to teach me how to do that" I joke "also why is she talking to a flower?" I asked confused as to who talks to flowers
"Oh she always talks to flowers when she's high, it's just kinda her thing y'know?" Amity gave an answer "
"...Talking to flowers while high is her thing?" I asked incredibly confused but also interested
"Yep, and she claims that they can talk back to her" Amity adds
"THEY CAN, I KNOW THEY CAN" Willow yelled. Amity and I giggle at this
"So Luz, tell me about you, do you know how to play any instruments?" Amity asked, wanting to get to know me
"I mean, I tried to learn the guitar when I was 14 but i got sent to this... normalization camp? I uhm then... then my mother died... while i was in the camp... and I went into foster, i still learned how to play a little but I never got the chance to really get good" I started tearing up
"Oh shit, I'm sorry I didn't know that... yeah..." Amity apologized
"Don't be sorry, it's not like you possibly could have known what I was going to say, but back on topic, yeah I can play a little bit of the guitar, how about you hermosa?" I say with a sadness tainted smirk at the end, she blushes slightly at the comment
"My parents make me take classical piano classes when I was 12 but it never really caught on so they tried violin and I was a bit better at that but still not very good, so I can barely play piano and can play violin" Amity gave a long answer "oh that's cool" I continued "Though earlier, you said you had a shitty day, what happened?" I asked gently but concerned.
Amity just sighed and looked like she was thinking hard about something, she finally relented and started to pull up her sleeves, revealing a bunch of bruises.

I gasped slightly and scooted closer "What happened?!" I asked, now incredibly concerned
"These are from my parents, my mom mostly but my dad really doesn't help atall, I used to be this little miss perfect, perfect grades, perfect attitude, perfect friends. Until one day, I came home with a B+ on a pre exam and my mother locked be in my room and didn't let me have dinner for the next week. It was then that I finally realized that I could never be the daughter they wanted so I stopped trying to be the daughter they wanted and started to be myself. Since then I haven't been happier" Amity explained sadly

"Im so sorry you had to go through that, nobody should ever have to go through that" I said solemnly looking right at her
"It's okay, what's done is done, nobody can change the past but we can always fix the future" Amity said giving me a small smile as I stared into her golden eyes.
"Has anyone ever told you that you have gorgeous eyes?" I said lost in a trance. Amity blushed slightly
"No I don't think so..." She said, still blushing slightly when we lock eyes. We both start slowly leaning in without realizing, inching closer and closer, until our lips are just almost brushing...
We then hear loud snoring and back up and look at the direction of the snoring and see Willow passed out on the ground
"dammit" I curse under my breath
"Okay we should probably get going, we don't want to fall asleep out here" I say, sad I didn't get to kiss Amity
"Uh- yeah, we should probably get home. What time is it?" She asks as I pull out my phone
"It isssss 2:47AM" I respond
"Dammit..." Amity cursed
"what's wrong?" I say as I walk over to Willow and pick her up over my shoulder
"Nothing, it's just that my parents check on my room to make sure that I'm there at 2:45 so I'm probably gonna get in trouble for sneaking out... again" Amity said with a small look of fear on her face that she was trying to hide though i still noticed it
"I can see how worried you are, if it's really that bad then you can just stay at my place for the night and we'll have bring Willow too since she never told me where she lived" I joked as we walked down the hill and over to Willows car. I fish the car keys out of Willows pockets and unlock the doors to her car.
"Yeah... that'd be nice, sure as shit beats going home to my psycho mother for a little longer" She says as I put Willow in the backseat of the car and get on the drivers side while she got on the passenger side.
"You ready to go?"
I hear a click "yep"
