Fifteen Promises

 

A powerful armor against hell; it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

There is a sort of protection—

That humans seek in Love,

And in Life.

A sort of protection that is Unseen,

Unheard,

Untouched;

And yet—

Longed

By far too many.

How people have come to believe in something they cannot see—

No one knows.

But then again,

Is Love something that is known?

If it is, on what grounds is it knowledge?

If it is not;

How, then, shall we explain—

The difference between our heart's desires

And the rigid mind's wires?

For where

Did common sense go?

Or rationality woe?

We do not know.

So I say—

Hello human,

Can you see?

For you are blind—

No, not of darkness;

But of light.

Yes,

Love is a light.

And though you shall fear

Its blinding sight;

Perhaps you will harbor

A strange hope knight—

That perhaps,

Perhaps,

Even blind—

You are not alone.
