She was as refreshing
As a summer rain shower.
Bright and cheery
Like a daffodil flower.
Kind and considerate
Nary a cross word.
Thoroughly enchanting,
Like a lovely songbird.
Her long flowing hair
A warm brunette.
The same color as her eyes.
I will never forget.
I only wish
I was unforgettable to her.
But she met another
The rest is a blur.
Her crimson lips
Never again to kiss.
Like winter's arrival
After summer's bliss.

PoetryA friend of mine suggested that instead of organizing what I write chronologically that I do so by topic. This book contains short stories and poems written from the garden.
