One of the orcs swung his sword at the defenseless Kili, but I managed to protect him. I deflected the blow and stabbed the creature in the heart. More orcs were right behind me. I dodged the blow and at the same time took creature's other sword.

While I was fighting, Kili tried to crawl to the lever, but was too weak. I kicked another monster in the cage and he fell off the bridge. I cut the head of the other one and ran to help Kili.

"Come on. " I said and helped him to his feet.

"The lever..." He moaned.

"Don't worry about that. " I replied. "We have to... Get down! " I shouted as another orc attacked us.

It was close and we would have lost our heads. The creature swung again and I didn't have much to protect us, because I was supporting Kili so he wouldn't fall down. I just kicked the creature in the knee. Orc looked at me in surprise. I didn't wait for him to attack us again so I pushed him again and the creature fell. We staggered over with Kili to the lever to get the rest out of here. I pulled on it and the gate swung open and the others continued to flow in barrels downstream.

We were just walking back to our barrels when orcs attacked us again. This time it wasn't me who defended us, but Tauriel and Legolas who shot the orcs with their bows. I don't really like elves, but at this point, I was very grateful to them. I helped Kili get into the barrel, and then I went into mine myself. After a while we followed the others.

As if that weren't enough, orcs didn't give up and continued to pursue us. Even though we were swimming and they were following us on land. There were some waterfalls or rocks so it was a bit hard to control it all.

As we swam closer to the shore, orcs attacked us and we tried to defend ourselves. Mostly we threw them into the water and took weapons to have something to protect ourselves. However, it didn't always help.

"Cut the log! " Thorin shouted.

It was full of orcs to cross to the other side. I lost the sword when we fell from the waterfall, but luckily Thorin had an ax which we passed to each other one by one and we cut the log until it finally broke. The creatures fell into the water and drowned.

Only after a while I noticed that Legolas and Tauriel were still chasing these creatures, and in addition, they were very good at fighting them.

Fili handed me the ax just in time to defend myself against the attack of one of the orcs. I swung at him and cut his legs so he fell into the water, and then handed weapon over. I turned to see Legolas. In the blink of an eye, he killed three orcs using only a bow and arrow. However, he didn't notice the creature lurking behind him.

"Legolas! " I shouted.

Suddenly something flew past my head and it took me a moment to realize that it was an ax. An ax that killed an orc and saved the elf's life at the same time. I turned to see who had thrown it, and Thorin appeared to my eyes. Oakenshield looked at me then put his hands up as if nothing had happened and grinned broadly. I just shook my head. I didn't expect that from Thorin, but I was glad he saved Legolas.

After a long time, we finally lost our persecutors, and the river current slowed down. We made sure it was safe and swam to the shore. I staggered out of the barrel and then helped Fili and Bofur get Bombur out of the barrel. Dwarf almost drowned. I looked for Kili. He sat down on one of the rocks and began dressing his leg. I walked over to check on him.

"I'm fine. It's nothing. " Kili said to Bofur.

"It doesn't look very good. " Bofur said.

"No, it's nothing... "

"No, it isn't." I entered Kli's words and knelt down next to him. "Let me, I'll help you. "

"There's no need to. " He said and groaned in pain as soon as he touched the wound again.

"Shut up and let me help you. "

"On your feet." Throin said.

"Kili's wounded. " Fili said, he was just walking towards us.

"His leg needs binding." I added.

"There's an orc pack on our tail. We keep moving. " Oakenshield said.

"To the mountain? We're so close. " Hobbit said.

"A lake lies between us and that mountain. " Balin replied. "We have no way to cross it."

"So then we go around." Bilbo suggested.

"The orcs will run us down, as sure as daylight." Dwalin replied. "We've no weapons to defend ourselfs. "

Thorin came over to us.

"Bind his leg, quickly. " He said. "You have two minutes. "

I soaked the handkerchief and began washing the wound to Kli.

"Ouch! "

"It's gonna hurt. " I said.

"Yeah ..." Dwarf moaned. "Thanks for the warning. "

"At your service. " I smiled, and after a while I finished dressing his wound. "You know ..." I started. "It really doesn't look too good... "

"Don't worry. " He said. "I'll be alright. " Smiled.

"Kili..." I started but didn't finish because someone started poking me. I turned to look at Fili.

"What? " I asked, and he was pointing at something behind me.

I turned again and a tall man appeared to my eyes. From what I noticed, he was human, but what's worse ... He was aiming a bow at us.
