A/N: OK here's the new chapter, sorry for the long wait, I'm finally done with my exams so I can continue to work on the story. P. S: I'm writing this while being sick so I apologise if it seems a bit off

F/Trunks: NOOOOOOOO!!!

F/Trunks then falls to his knees

F/Trunks: Mom, Mai, I've failed you

He punches the ground, but is interrupted from his sulking by Goku who puts a hand on his shoulder

Goku: you haven't failed anyone, you made it to our timeline, sure the time machine was destroyed but Bulma could always just fix it

Bulma interupts him

Bulma: fix it?

Goku:yeah, Future you built it and you're the same person so it makes sense that you would be able to fix it

Bulma:that's not how it works

Y/N: I mean, we could always just use the dragon balls

Goku: yeah, you're right

Goku lets out a chuckle with his famous Son grin plastered on his face

F/Trunks then wiped the tears away from his face

F/Trunks: thank yo-

He is cut off by Vegeta

Vegeta: no need for that, you are my son do you think I would put my pride as a father on the line by not helping you

Goku: yeah he is right, of course we-

Vegeta: and besides why would I give up the chance to kick Kakarot's ass

Goku: hey!!!

F/Trunks let's out a chuckle

Y/N: but that's the thing, I don't think that was Goku, or a version of Goku that tired evil

Goku: huh

Whis then joins the conversation

Whis: I agree, there was something he said that stuck out to me, "when I get used to this body"

Vegeta: are you saying that someone took over Kakarot's body

Whis: its the most logical assumption, I don't see a way that Goku would willingly turn evil and Goku isn't really prone to any form of mind control

Vegeta: probably because there's nothing to control

Goku, while ignoring Vegeta's comment, then says

Goku: in that case let's gather the dragon balls so we can fix the time machine and head for the future quickly so we can find out who that guy is exactly

Y/N: I agree for the most part, but Trunks has clearly had a long day, let's leave going to the future till tomorrow

Bulma: Y/N is right, Trunks needs to rest, plus it would give him a chance to say hi to Gohan and the others

Goku: I guess you're right

Whis: if that's the all, we will be on our way, we, let's be honest, I will inform you if I find anything

Beerus: what's that supposed to mean

Whis just laughs as the are covered by a bright light as they vanish

Y/N: OK, you guys should pack for tomorrow, and as for you

I turn to Trunks

Y/N: you should start by visiting Gohan, I'm sure he would be happy to see you
