Fight or flight

They say I have to  fight or flee
Well I choose to escape and not try and stay with my demons and plea
To run and try to forget my world
To isolate until I can believe I'm in an imaginary solace where my panic has always unfurled
I try to leave behind the yelling
Which I will always try to bury as if it's my foe.
Alas it's in my nature to face this and my  heart pounds and a pit in my stomach grows
I break down because it all becomes too much, I cannot just agree,
There  is an overload of senses trying to break me
The fear clutching me to the point of strangling my heart
The sadness sliding down my cheek
And the pain which will live everywhere in my body
All of them refusing to let me go.
