Nikolas's POV

I looked down at my sweet boy as he slept peacefully, watching his slight movements with a small smile on my face.

I've been watching August since I woke up about an hour ago. Davide got up and went to  the store to grab August some 'little' things like clothes and some food that won't be too harsh on his sensitive tummy, leaving me to keep August company while he's gone.

I didn't have the heart to wake August because of the tough night he had so I let him sleep for as long as he needs, enjoying my time of taking in his adorable traits.

While he's been asleep I've learned a few things. For example, when August sleeps he always needs to be touching a part of either me or Davide. It doesn't matter if it's our clothes or our hands, he always finds a way to hold on to us.

Every now and then August would move around and switch positions, leaving him to have to search for our hands once again. I worried that he'd wake himself up looking for us but he never did. His breathing would simply pick up and he'd scrunch his nose in worry until he found us again.

The sight would have been one of the cutest things I've ever seen if it wasn't for how scared I was that my baby boy might be doing that because he was worried about us leaving him.

Of course, Davide and I know we'd never leave August, but August doesn't know that yet. We have to prove ourselves first, prove that we can really stay.

*ding*

My thoughts are interrupted when I hear my phone go off from the bedside table. I glance to August one last time to make sure the notification didn't wake him up. After finding him in the same peaceful position as before, I use my hand that isn't taken by August's to reach for my phone.

Davide: Which ones?

While the dinosaur onesies were adorable, I don't want to get August anything too specific just yet. When he starts feeling better Davide and I will take him shopping to get him anything his little heart desires. Until then I think we should keep things simple, that way August can pick out what he really wants later on.
