right now in the airport heading to south carolina, where my mom was being buried
"flight to charleston south carolina is now boarding" the pilot from the plane said through the microphone
i gripped bradley's hand as we stepped on the plane. i hate going on planes because knowing that i'm not flying it we could go down
"i just can't wait to be landed" i tell bradley who gave me a kiss on the head when i leaned my head on his shoulder
"i know you can't" he whispered to me
he was the exact opposite of me, he loved going on flights because he loved the free time of but having to control everything
"go to sleep and when you wake up we'll be landed" he said and i nodded, closing me eyes, taking a deep breath then going strait to sleep

i gasped when i saw my aunt ray talking to some older people, i ran off to her and gave her a big hug
"savannah on my god" she said into my ear "i've missed you so much"
when we separated from each other we both got a good look at each other
"i've heard about you at top gun again that's amazing sweetheart" i shrugged at her words
"thanks aunt ray" i smiled at her, i looked behind me and saw bradley walking towards us "this is my boyfriend bradley" i put my hand on his chest
my aunt put he hand of for him to shake and he gladly took it "it's nice to meet you" bradley told her
" nice to meet you too" she told him then looked at me "he's cute" she winked at me causing bradley and i to both laugh
"i'm sorry about mom" i told her and her eyes went soft "i know you two weren't close and neither were we but i'm still sorry, that i wasn't there"
"sweetheart it's not your fault, it's none of ours not even your mom" she put a hand on my shoulder "and now she's in a better place, with no pain"

tears fell down my face as the pastor talked about my mother, i froze once he called my name "and her one and only daughter, savannah would like to speak"
i looked at bradley with a confused face and he pushed me to stand up
i got to the front of the church, near the microphone "my mom always hated the thought of me being a fighter pilot. and i never understood why until my dad died" i blinked back tears " i wasn't close with my mom or my dad, but when i told her i was going on a this mission she was happy for me"
i wiped a tear that fell on my cheek "that was the first time i ever really felt proud of myself" i smiled "but then she passed away with a warning and i guess i took it hard i don't really know"
i said a couple more words then walked off the stage, sitting next to bradley
i felt my phone buzz a couple of times and i saw that it was maverick
i stood up and walked through the isle to get out of the church with bradley following me
i looked at the text then to bradley's face with my mouth opened
"what?" he asked me eagerly, wanting to know what the texts say
