Day and Night

Breathe a little deeper,
hold me a bit tighter.
The way your scent stays on my shirt, makes me feel lighter.
The sun rays break though locks of my hair,
and I smile a bit brighter.

But the night settles,
and I am no fighter.
I conquered death and fear so many times,
my pale skin won't get any whiter.
Fall into a black hole of nothingness and you'll barely breathe right.
Darling oblivion swallows you under the pale moonlight.
Lord, save me from myself and help me sleep through the night.
