The prince began to search for who killed her parents, he had a feeling he knew who most likely did it, but he had to be sure. Over the next week, he collected evidence and worked to make sure he was right. After making sure he was right he knew his parents had something
to do with it. He theorized that his parents hired someone and it was targeted to kill the king, queen, and princess, but failed to kill the princess since she was with the prince. Shortly after finding out, he tracked down the person his parents hired to plant the explosive and interrogated him for information, but all he confirmed was that his parents were the ones who hired him.
Angered by the lack of information he killed the hitman and threw his body into the lava. The prince decided on his way back to the princess that he wouldn't mention that his parents were why hers were dead in fear that she would declare war on the Nether. It wasn’t that he
particularly cared for the Nether or the peace treaty, it was that she may leave him if she found out. After all their time together, he had stopped caring about the peace treaty and begun loving her for who she was rather than because he had to. Besides, he figured she had enough on her plate now that she was queen, he didn’t need to add on the stress of another war with the Nether. When he got to her castle he hurried inside and as soon as he saw her he ran and picked her up and hugged her.
“Did you find who killed my parents?” she asked.
“Yes, I did find the person who set off the explosion,” he replied gently, putting her down.
“And where are they so we can put them in jail?”
“I dealt with them already.”
“ What do you mean you dealt with them?”
“Don't worry about that. All that matters is they can't hurt you anymore.”
“Alright.” she replied as she hugged him again.
“How was everything here?”
“It was alright. I'm still trying to figure out this whole queen thing and I was worried about you.”
“You were worried about me?” he asked, surprised.
“Of course I was. Why wouldn't I be?” she questioned, confused.
“I thought you’d be too upset about your parent’s death to think about me.”
“I am really upset about it, and then you went to find out what happened and I worried I would lose you too. I care about you a lot and couldn’t bear to lose you as well.”
“I care about you too.” the prince replied as he hugged her.
“You do?”
“More than you realize.” The prince hugged her again and this time he kissed her forehead.
