"Bakit ang tagal mong sagutin?" salitang bungad ng kapatid ko pagkasagot ko sa tawag.

"Sorry, busy."

"Should I believe?" he responds.

I bit my lower lip. " Observant, huh?" I said to him. One of the reasons I occasionally detest him is that it's quite simple for him to tell if you're lying or not. "Not finish yet in your works?" tinanong ko naman siya.

"Not even in a half yet. Hey, you don't need to worry about me, this is my job."

Bumuntong hininga ako sa winika niya.

"I have so many papers that need to worked it. Nabalitaan ko dumalaw ka raw sa bahay kanina?"

"Oo and dad and I we're okay."

I'm incredibly relieved because, unlike previously, my dad isn't as arrogant now. Wala talaga kaming pansinan mula umaga hanggang gabihan in a weeks dati. Sana lang ay magtuloy tuloy ang pagiging good mood niya.

"He's never mad at you. You're just delusional." hes teasing me.

"A-huh?" I'm confused.

" Where at you right now?"

Napalinga ako sandali sa paligid tsaka ko napansin si Cole na nakabusangot habang naglalakad lakad, mukhang naiinip.

"Outside.."

"Of your apartment?" agad niyang dagdag.

"No."

Wala na kong masasabi kundi sabihin na lamang ang totoo.

"Be straight to me, sis." I think he's more serious this time.

"Some business, that I have to attend too?" given that I know Cole is observing me, I don't think I need to tell him the reason explicitly.

"Right, what's new by the way." he said. 

I feel safe when he said that. Akala ko mangungulit pa.

"May nangyari ba sainyo ni Jessilyn?"

Oh, brader. Ayoko munang isipin 'yan, Jian.

"What she said to you?"

"She wants to talk to you. Give her a time to explain and make up to her."

Dinidiktahan na naman ako ng lalaking 'to.

Hindi ako sumagot sa sinabi niya. At this moment, it's not a top priority.

"Alright, so you intend to end the call right now, hmm?" I imagining his face right now, what the hell.

Kailangan ko ng ibaba ang tawag dahil naiinip na tong kasama ko at maging ako rin.

"Jian, it's important."

"Me? I am not important to you?"

"Geez, brad." umasim ang mukha ko.

"I'm just kidding. Alam mong nasabi ko na na kapag may emergency ay tumawag ka kagad but you didn't. Ako pa ang tumawag para malaman kung ano ng nangyari sayo. Honestly, that's unfair."
