Chapter 15

"Fɪʀᴇꜰʟɪᴇs"

Cassie's POV

"Cassie! Don't go by yourself!" I heard Scott yell as I ran through the woods, looking for Boyd and the other girl.

Alright Cassie, just use your magic. You practiced earlier with Deaton, you got this.

I grab a rock on the ground, I cut opened my wrist. Scott told me werewolves had a strong scent...my blood will attract them to me.

Then I see Boyd and the other girl run towards me, but I see Scott, Isaac, Derek, and Chris running behind me, trying to stop me. "Come on!" I yell at Boyd and the girl.

"Prohibere!" I yell, causing the girl and Boyd to freeze, they roared and growled but they couldn't move. I turned around looking at the boys, they stared in shock. "I got them." I spoke.

They smiled before they frowned, "what?" I asked, before I turned around seeing Boyd and the girl gone. "Shit, I forgot, I dropped the spell." I frowned before I start running. "Cassie! Stop!"

I heard the sound of Allison's boots walking on top of the buses, shooting arrows in the wolves away, the light shining in their eyes.

"Come on." I close the school doors as Boyd and the other girl ran inside. "Cassie, we need to talk about how you keep running off." Isaac spoke, "I don't care." I said.

Isaac grabs my arm, making me face him, "you could've gotten hurt, I can't see you get hurt." He says softly. "Isaac, I'm a witch now, I won't get hurt." I spoke before I turn away, but he grips my wrist tighter.

I faced him again, "what?" I asked. "It's like I don't know who you are anymore." He shakes his head, I chuckled, "this is me now, I'm a witch, a Steel, it's my job to protect werewolves." I spoke.

"Well, now it's my job to tell you that you don't need to protect us, we're stronger." Isaac says, and I shake my head. "But here's the thing Isaac...I'm the one stronger." I said but whispered the last part.

"Show me then." He backed up into the hall, "show me how 'powerful' you are." He said backing up more.

I take a deep breath, I look down at my phone, looking at my notes. "Okay, Cas, you got this, remember the words." I whispered to myself.

Focus.

"Ascndo." I whispered raising my hand up, lifting Isaac off the ground. "Isaac?" I called out, and he stares at me shocked. "C-Cassie, you can put me down now." Isaac said scared.

I smiled, "But I'm showing you how 'powerful' I am." I smirked. I dropped him to the ground, making him groan in pain. "Tenebris lapsus." I said moving my hand, causing his arm to break.

He yells in pain as I walked towards him, "am I powerful enough?" I asked. He stares up at me shocked, "y-yeah." He stutters.

"Now, don't test me next time." I said before I hold out a hand, He takes it and looks down at me. "I-I'm sorry." He said.

"My fault, sorry about your ar--" I cut myself off when I see the sun come up. "Shit, it's up already?" He asks.

"Yeah, the sun is coming up...Wait! Scott! The sun!" I yell as I ran down the hall, down to the basement. "Derek?! Scott?!" I yell.

I gasp when I see Derek covered in blood, with Boyd and the girl asleep by his side. "Derek?" I whispered.

"Shit, you look fucked up." I chuckled.
