The brunette boy and the ravenette girl ran, they ran as fast as they can, praying that Carla and (Y/N) are okay. They pushed past the panicking people and ran past dead bodies crushed by the wall debris, not caring about the situation of the other families. What they only cared about at the time, was the condition of Carla and (Y/N)
Many people were screaming and running in fear. Some were crying over their friends and family members crushed by huge rocks and boulders
Man: Run!! They got in!! The titans are inside Shiganshina!!!
As soon as they turned right, what they saw was a horrific sight. (Y/N) was unconscious and stuck and crushed under the remaining house debris while Carla was trying to get him out
Mikasa's entire body went cold and her adrenaline was not helping. Her heart was beating faster and horrifying thoughts entered her mind. She didn't know if he was dead or unconscious and hoped for the latter
Arriving at the scene, Eren and Mikasa quickly tried to help lift the pillar that was crushing (Y/N)'s lower half
Eren: Come on!! Come on!!!!
While trying to lift the pillar, the three felt rumbling vibrations, they looked up to see a blonde titan with a creepy smile coming straight at them
Eren: Hurry!! Try harder!!!
Mikasa: I-I'm trying
They heard the sounds of an ODM gear and saw Hannes running straight towards the smiling titan. As soon as he saw the horrible sight of the titan, fear coursed through his veins and straight into his heart. The fear of dying held victory against his bravery. He turned around and tried to help (Y/N) instead
(Y/N) woke up to the sound of grunting, rumbling, and the pain in his lower half
Mikasa: (Y/N)!! Don't worry we'll get you out of there!! Just stay strong!
Realizing the situation, (Y/N) yelled at them
(Y/N): Go!! Leave me!! Head for the evacuation boats!!
Eren: No we're not leaving you
Mikasa: No!!
Carla: We're not leaving you (Y/N)!!
Cursing under his breath, he turned toward the garrison soldier
(Y/N): Hannes!! Get them out of here!! Please!!!
He begged. But the garrison was too stubborn and yelled at him
Hannes: No! We're getting you out of here! I'm getting you four to safety!
Furious at them, (Y/N) yelled at him again
(Y/N): HANNES!! GET THEM OUT OF HERE!! STOP BEING SO GOD DAMN STUBBORN! IF YOU DON'T GET THEM OUT OF HERE THEN ALL OF US WILL GET EATEN!!!
Eren: No!!!
Mikasa: Don't say that (Y/N)!! We'll get you out
(Y/N): Even if you did get me out my lower half is crushed! I'll only slow you down!! Go!!
Eren: Then Hannes will carry you!!
(Y/N): Eren! For once in your life just listen to me!! Please!!
Mikasa was crying and still didn't try to leave, same with Eren and Carla. Knowing that they won't leave, the raven-haired boy pulled Hannes by his collar and begged him to get the others to safety as his final wish
(Y/N): Please Hannes!! Get them out!! Please!!!! As my final wish.. get them to safety, Hannes, Carla.....please...
Hannes and Carla went completely still and silent
(Y/N): Mikasa... please........
The girl looked at him, he held her hand and whispered in her ear so only she can hear...
(Y/N): Go... live.... I will always be there for you.........
(Y/N): I love you, Mikasa Ackerman...
Hannes suddenly carried Eren while Carla took Mikasa by her wrist and dragged her away. Mikasa went wide eyed and tried to get out of Carla's grip but failed, the adrenaline faded away and she was to exhausted to fight back but she still tried
She looked at (Y/N) and saw that he smiled at her, accepting his fate. Pain. Pain was all she felt. Tears was blurring her vission. He had just told her 'I love you' and she didn't get a chance to say it back
The Smiling titan picked him up....
Mikasa: (Y/N)....... (Y/N)!!! No.... NO! NO!! N-no....
She didn't see what happened next because they turned and a house blocked her sight and only assumed that it had killed (Y/N). She stopped running but Hannes had picked her up and carried her too. Eren finally came back to reality and started hitting Hannes and shouting at him
Eren: We could've saved him!!! WE COULD'VE SAVED (Y/N)!!!
Stopping in his tracks Hannes put Mikasa and Eren down. As soon as they were set down, Hannes was puched in the stomach but not because of Eren but....
Because Mikasa had punched him
Mikasa: Why?!? WHY DID YOU LEAVE HIM THERE?!?!
She was crying and sobbing, the boy she loved is gone. She was hurting, broken and in pain. He was the only person she was living for. He was the only thing keeping her happy, healthy and loved. She had loved him and cared for him and he did the same. HE was there when she was hurting. HE was there when she was in danger. HE was there to teach her how to defend herself and others so that no one is hurt again. HE was there when others weren't. And now he's gone...
Mikasa: Why?!?..... Why?.... why did you leave him.....
This was the first time Carla, Eren and Hannes has seen Mikasa cry. She was always strong and wore an expressionless face when (Y/N) wasn't around. Yes she smiles sometimes but that was only when (Y/N) was around. She didn't show any emotion when the boy wasn't there
She was empty, without (Y/N), she was an empty husk. The pain in her heart was killing her. Hannes didn't take mind as they were still in possible danger and picked Mikasa back up and ran, Carla dragging an angry Eren with her. Mikasa didn't feel any other emotions. The only thing she felt was pain, sadness, guilt. She shed one last tear as she said the words....
Mikasa: I'm sorry...........
