one month, seven days.

that was how long it had been since the fateful day where ten hogwarts students had been trapped in a room together for hours, having to watch six die before their eyes. four remained, though not together.

nobody ever truly found out what had happened, why the bodies of belle lestrange, pansy parkinson, draco malfoy, hermione granger, ron weasley, and luna lovegood had suddenly appeared, floating on the surface of the black lake.

the parents of those who were gone were either unperturbed or highly distressed, or even in the process of suing the school for not knowing of the death of six children which had happened within the walls of the castle.

and the ones who survived?

harry's aunt petunia finally wizened up and realized that the last connection to her sister could have been lost, and so she quickly made plans to move her, her husband, her son, and her nephew to america, where she believed they would be able to have a fresh start.

hope's mother was quick to transfer hope out of hogwarts and sent her to muggle school, fearful of the fact that she could have lost both of her children before either could have reached eighteen.

elle and blaise continued to attend hogwarts together, as elle's mother was out of the picture and blaise's parents were insistent that he finish his education. they attended therapy sessions every saturday together, and they were slowly recovering from everything that had happened to them.

none of them would ever be the same again.

but that was okay.
