Emerald green arborvitae tree and small round evergreen shrubs surrounded the pool area, the white stone pavement contrasted well against the dark green trees and aqua blue pool water. The benches and umbrellas were crisp white and I almost felt bad when Emiliano handed me a glass of blood red wine. What if I get nervous, miss my mouth and accidentally spill?

"The bottle costs half a million euros, Don't spill!"

Oh my fuck! Can he read my mind?

I looked up and nervously laughed at Emiliano's very poor and untimely joke, he could've at least waited until my hands stopped shaking, at this rate, I might spill the glass just to piss him off.

I took the chance that he was getting whiskey for himself and Lorenzo to rush beside Lorenzo. Being this close to his dad made my stomach turn. Lorenzo took my hand before planting a soft kiss on my lips, and I felt relief wash over me.

As Lorenzo and his dad both sipped their drinks, I noticed their resemblance. It was uncanny, they stood at the same height, they had the same hairstyles and scowls on their faces. Must run in the family.

They each took a sip then looked down and then pressed their lips in a thin line. It was comical because although in his features, Lorenzo looked a lot like his mom, his mannerisms were just like his father's. Only Emiliano is older with graying hair and a few more wrinkles than Lorenzo.

Lorenzo came to sit down next to me on the bench as his father stood and continued looking at me in a really strange way, I avoided his eyes and focused on the arranged paving stones, oh look at that pretty ant family. Nice antlers.

"How long are you staying in Italy?"

Emiliano spoke and I raised my head to see Lorenzo glaring at him, he looked like he was about to lose it, which he shortly did.

"Cut the small talk! We're here, tell us what we came for!"

Man, I have got to do something about this boy's temper or one day, it's gonna kill us both.

Emiliano looked at Lorenzo then his eyes flickered to me and he scoffed in a mocking tone then he laughed sadistically before he fixed Lorenzo with a murderous dark look, what the hell was his problem?

"I heard you dug up Andre Russo and gave him back to Diana, is that true?"

Lorenzo's eyes never left the ground as he took the final gulp from his drink before placing it down on the table. I was too nervous to drink, I held my wine glass like it was a lifeline.

"It was the right thing to do to end this war. And Santos is dead, they don't have a Mafia anymore"

Lorenzo finally looked up at his father, challenging him and man, the look on Emiliano's face made the blood drain from my body. He scoffed again and muttered something under his breath as he played with his glass. All of a sudden, without warning, he threw the glass in Lorenzo's direction.

I let out a loud gasp dropping my wine as the glass shattered against his head, the liquid poured down his face and tiny pieces of glass scratched his skin then fell down to the ground. Lorenzo winced in pain and I got up to stare at a victorious looking Emiliano.

"What The Hell Is Wrong With You?!"

I shouted and before I could bend down to help Lorenzo, two strong hands grabbed me and held me back by my elbows. Two other men came around either side of Lorenzo and held him, a third man appeared in front of him and began kicking him repeatedly in his abdomen.

I winced, screamed and fought with all my might for the asshole behind me to let me go. I couldn't stand the sight of Lorenzo, being treated like a punching bag in front of me. I couldn't help him.
