"inha."

the said girl pushed away the hand that reached out for her, the tears in her eyes blurring her vision as she struggled to make out her surroundings. "please just take me home." she begged, not trusting herself to go by herself. home was the last place she wanted to be, but she had no where else to escape to.

yeosang silently nodded, guiding the girl away from the scene and out the school building. inha realised something, when things seemed to be going well, she was always slapped by reality. she always thought that that feeling could only be applied by her father, she never thought it would be dohyun inflicting that sort of damage.

"pass, pass, pass!" wooyoung called out, waving his arm as one of the members of the opposing team attempted to block him. running forward, the ball was passed over and wooyoung dribbled over to the hoop seamlessly, scoring the team a three pointer.

the buzzer rang, signalling the end of the game, their school winning by six points. the crowd cheered, the team circling together as they praised one another, high-fives being passed around. inha smiled, waving at dohyun when he glanced over at her, mouthing a 'good job' towards him.

"who's that boy?" yeosang questioned, his eyes never leaving wooyoung. he couldn't help but dwell on the words he had left him with. inha, wondering who he meant, followed his gaze, her smile immediately dropping when they landed on the said boy.

"jung wooyoung." she answered distastefully. yeosang was surprised by her tone of voice, he knew that they didn't have a good relationship, but it only made him more curious as to why he had said what he said to yeosang. what did he know, that not even inha knew? "he's never liked me because he's second place," inha continued, yeosang not expecting an explanation. "but i think he just hates my dad more than anything."

"your dad?" yeosang questioned in confusion.

"oh," inha affirmed, nodding her head. "he thinks that my dad buys everything so that our family can be successful." she explained. "he isn't wrong." she quietly added to herself, but yeosang didn't catch the last bit, too busy staring at jung wooyoung who was busily excited talking with his teammates. he noticed two of them being from their class, choi san and song mingi.

the people slowly dispersed as the gym became emptier, only the team left and inha and yeosang too. approaching the team, inha was about to approach dohyun when wooyoung suddenly cut in.

"oh, your play toy is here, sunbae." inha was taken aback by wooyoung's words. he had always insulted her, and inha was very much used to it, but this was different. his venomous words had a different agenda today.

"yah, jung wooyoung"

"why?" wooyoung cut the girl off, sending her a teasing smirk. "i'm not wrong, am i, sunbae?" wooyoung tilted his head innocently, watching as dohyun seemed to also be confused by his action.

"what are you talking about?"

"you were talking about it today," wooyoung mentioned. although he was well aware about the bet prior to today, when it was made at the party, but it was never spoken about openly in front of everyone. he couldn't speak up about something without any proof, right? well, he happily got his proof today at warm ups. "what did you say again? watch me make her beg?"

"yah!" dohyun was livid, glaring at the younger boy. "do you want to die?" wooyoung grinned.

"why? am i wrong?" he questioned. "then why aren't you denying it?"

inha silently watched the back and forth exchange, wondering what on earth was going on. why was jung wooyoung saying all of this? and why wasn't dohyun denying it?

"you all heard him at warm ups, right? you heard their bet." the seniors awkwardly avoided eye contact, feeling uncomfortable with the situation when the victim was stood right before them. "if you forgot, i can play it for you again?" wooyoung lifted his hand that was holding his phone, teasing them as his screen showed a video of when they were in the locker rooms.

"yah! you asshole!"

"dohyun?" inha cut the boy off before he could scold wooyoung. inha didn't know why wooyoung was revealing all of this, she didn't know if he was being nice or if he was out to get both of them in some sick, twisted way, but right now, she had to deal with lee dohyun.

dohyun turned to the girl in surprise, almost as if he had just remembered she was there. he reached out for the girl, trying to play innocent. "inha"

"i really have no one." inha accidentally spoke out loud as she walked beside yeosang absentmindedly. he glanced down at the girl, realising that she wasn't talking to anyone in particular. he decided to stay silent, not understanding her words fully, he just believed it was from the betrayal of her supposed best friend.

deciding that he didn't want to send her home just yet, yeosang decided to cheer the girl up.
