Hello friends and others who have decided to give my work a chance. This is a companion story to London Boy, released in June 2021.

First and for most. Thank you to my lovely editor who I continue to throw last minute projects on. Thank you to one of my besties Bevan who read the first few chapters and helped me relay the essence of Christmas as I don’t really celebrate myself for a variety of reasons but I do like a good cheesy holiday love story.

Thanks to the puppers Jayce and Posie who sit up with me late into the night and keep me company as I write.

I had never written a Christmas story before except for some requested fluffy fanfic and that was like a paragraph long. I thought this was a good one to have a companion to because the holidays aren’t great for everyone, and I think people who dive into the Christmas spirit forget that. I think people sometimes forget that this is the worst season for people who don’t have families, because they’re passed away or estranged and while this is all fun and everything some people are traumatized by the season and it’s a stressful and confusing time for them in an entirely different way than most others are stressed. At first, I was going to have Evie not go at all, she and Harry were going to stay in and watch non Christmas stuff but that didn’t’ feel quite right because Harry is often times the patient one and I felt this was his moment to have her try for him.

Summary:

Evelyn Barnhill enrolls in an internship to escape the grief and guilt saturating her home. She wants two things; to nail her internship and to find a distraction. However, her guilt is heavier than she anticipated, and her distraction is growing into something more than she bargained for. But none of that matters because she has to go home… right?
