I look at Noah shocked at what he just told me.  Why the hell is Anslee's mom calling Noah? She better not be calling to ask Noah and I to go easy on her daughter.  That woman almost killed me and then tried to blackmail Noah into sleeping with her to save me.

"You should pick it up No.  She has been calling back every time it goes to voicemail," I say putting my hand on his arm.

"She has no reason to be calling me.  The only call I would take from her is a call that Anslee is dead," he says so coldly.

"I'll be right here the whole time if you want me to be when you talk to her," I say taking his hand.

He reluctantly accepts the call and puts it on speaker phone.

"Hello," he says.

"Noah.  It's Sarah.  I am so sorry to call you like this, but I need to speak with you and Tiffany," I hear her say.

"Unless you are calling me to tell me Anslee is dead.  Then we have nothing to talk about," he says.

I hear Sarah gasp on the other end of the phone.

"I know how hurt you must be after everything my daughter has done to you," she says.  Her voice shaking a little.

"Hurt does not even begin to describe how I feel about your daughter."

"Noah she is sick," her mom says.

"You are right about that.  No normal person would do what she did to me and Tiff.  She can rot and die in jail for all I care."

"I know you feel this way now, but please listen to what we just found out and I think you may see things a little differently," she begs Noah.

"You have 10 minutes and then I am hanging up and blocking your number."

"Anslee collapsed in jail two days ago and was rushed to the hospital.  They did emergency brain surgery on her and found a tumor growing on her frontal lobe that controls impulse and knowing right from wrong.  They removed it and Anslee doesn't remember anything that happened.  When the councilor told her why she had to go back to jail, she immediately regretted it and took ownership of it."

"This is all very convenient now.  The State has an air tight case against her and now she wants to take ownership for it when she is facing some serious jail time," he says.

I stand there shocked.  I don't know what to say or what to believe at this point.

"The District Attorney is offering her a deal if she allocutes to what she did.  15 year in jail, with possible prole in 8 years. She'll be out in time to possibly have some what of a future, but she won't do that until she talks with Tiffany," I hear her say.

"That is not happening Sarah.  She is not getting anywhere near Tiffany."

"Anslee will forgo a trial and you and Tiffany can move on and start your lives together without the stigma of a trial.  Please Noah can you at least talk to her and see if she will consider it?  If this goes to trial and Anslee loses it's life in prison for her.  I am begging you as a mother to ask Tiffany if she'll talk to Ans."

I stand there and all these emotions are running through me.  I want to close this chapter in our lives and if going and talking with Anslee will get her to take this deal then I will do it.

I squeeze Noah's hand and mouth for him to give me the phone.  He reluctantly hands over the phone.

"Hi Sarah, it's Tiffany," I say.

"Tiffany, I am sorry to ask you this but..." I cut her off.

"I heard what you asked Noah and I will go and talk with Anslee, but she has to sign the deal immediately before I go into the room.  This way I know she is not going to back out of the deal."
