I put my backpack on the kitchen table, waiting for my mom to yell at me to put it back. That never happened though. I looked around for my mom. After going up to her office, I over heard her talking to somebody I hadn't ever heard before. It sounds like they were talking about money but I could barely put anything together from the mumbling through the heavy wooden door. As I am thinking, I hear the door and see my mom giving me the "mom" smile. You know which one I'm talking about. Anyways I am suddenly pulled from my thoughts once again, as my mom tells me in an excited voice "Guess what honey, we're moving! Isn't this just amazing. Your father got a new job in Maryland."
"Yeah sure mom, ummm I got to go do my algebra homework" I said way too quickly.
"Okay have fun, don't study too hard."
That's not what I was worried about. I don't even think I have algebra homework. I just needed an excuse to get away and think.
First off, Maryland? Where the heck even is Maryland? Probably pretty far from here. You see I live in a moderate sized town in New Mexico. I was perfectly fine here. Oh god, that means, that means a new school. God knows school here sucks, I can't imagine what starting over would be like...
