A few days after bootcamp, Nick asked me to be his girlfriend. It was May 28, 2019 in the parking lot at Applebee's. He gave me a necklace and his picture of him in his dress blues from bootcamp. After bootcamp, we spent were able to spend 6 days together. Nick then had to leave for ITB (Infantry Training Battalion) back at Camp Pendleton. That made a total of 12 days that we spent together in person before Nick proposed to me on August 20, 2019 when I came to his ITB graduation. I only got to spend that one day with him. He came back home for Thanksgiving. He got home on the 26th and stayed until the 3rd of December. We got married at a courthouse on December 2, 2019. He had to go back to Camp Pendleton though to get a house ready for us. He came back home for Christmas. We had our wedding on December 28th and we drove to California together on January 2, 2020. We had spent under 3 weeks together in person before we married each other and moved to California together. Now we've been married for almost 2 years.
Here's a more simple way of putting all that:
We met February 13, 2019
Spent 6 days together before he left for bootcamp.
When he got back from bootcamp in May, we spent 6 more days together.
He proposed to me on August 20, 2019. We only got to see each other that one day.
He came home for Thanksgiving leave. We spent 5 days together. Married on December 2nd. So we were married after 16 days of being together in person plus one day after being married.
