The next morning Carolyn woke up pretty early and decided to get up right away, do the house chores because it looked like being world-class surgeons with multiple kids made it impossible for the house to be clean all the time. After she was done with the cleaning, she went back upstairs to wake everyone up. Her heart melted the moment she entered Meredith's bedroom. She saw her son and daughter-in-law cuddled up next to each other, small snores escaping from Meredith's mouth. Carolyn couldn't help but smile at that sight. She felt the happiness she hadn't felt in so long. She knew it was a special moment for them so she left the room and let them sleep a little longer.

About an hour later Meredith was woken up by the lips pressed to her forehead. She slowly opened her eyes and let herself enjoy the moment of waking up next to her husband.

"Hey sleepyhead," Derek said smiling, looking at his wife in awe.
"Hey" she smiled at him, then moved closer to him and kissed his lips.
He kissed her back without hesitation. The kiss was soft, but filled with love and passion. They couldn't get enough of each other. They both knew one another was all they needed for the rest of their lives and they'd never let go.

They pulled away to catch their breaths. He leaned forward and kissed her on the forehead. She cuddled closer to him and put her head in the crook of his neck and gently pecked it. He wrapped his arms around her tiny body and kissed her temple. They melted in each other's touch. That was until Zola, Bailey and Ellis all ran into their room and got in bed with them. All of them cuddled together like one happy family. That was all they've always dreamed of. That was all they needed for the rest of their lives.

"So you finally woke up" Amelia walked into the room smiling. She couldn't believe when her mother told her that Meredith and Derek were sleeping together, in the same bed, cuddled up next to each other but now she could clearly see it and she couldn't be any happier. She never really believed in love, not really anyways, it was never her experience of life. When her father died she was only five so she didn't remember her parents' relationship, but from what everyone said she knew they were examples of true love. And when she first saw Meredith and Derek together, she knew real love existed, and maybe happily ever afters did too, but then Derek died and all her dreams were shattered again until now. Now she believed in love again seeing them together again. "Come on kiddos, breakfast's ready. Grandma made waffles." Kids immediately got out of bed and run downstairs to taste grandma's waffles. "I'll give you some alone time" Amelia winked at them and got out of the room, closing the door.
"I will kill her," Meredith said smiling. They both laughed and decided to get out of bed.

"I need to take a shower, mind joining me?" Derek asked with a smirk.
"I would love to". Meredith couldn't help but smile at his comment. Suddenly her smile dropped.
"It's almost twelve Derek, I was supposed to be at work an hour ago." She couldn't believe she slept until eleven, she didn't even remember the last time she slept till that late.

"So our shower's canceled?" Derek's smile changed into a frown.
"Yeah, I'm sorry" She quickly brushed her teeth and hair, and put on some clothes and shoes to go to work.

"You're already late, what would one more hour change, right"' He grabbed her waist and pulled her close to him, kissing her passionately. She kissed him back, wanting him just as badly as he wanted her. He tried to deepen the kiss but she didn't let him, instead she pulled away and kissed him on the cheek.
"I love you, see you later" She quickly ran downstairs without giving him a chance to say it back, kissed the kids goodbye and headed to the work with Amelia.
Derek took a quick shower and joined his mother and the kids for breakfast.

Meredith's and Amelia's ride to work was an interesting one. Of course, Amelia had some questions that she wanted Meredith to answer.
"Did you do it?" she asked curiously waiting for an answer.
"With your mother in the house?" Meredith asked her sarcastically.
"Right, that's what I thought. Plus I didn't hear any voices, you know. You used to be so loud back then" She chuckled. Her smile dropped when she saw Meredith giving her an 'I'll kill you if you won't shut up' look. The rest of the ride was quiet, except for the music played on the radio.
