One of the prizes for the winner was a review on the entry. Therefore here is the review:
"The Picture of You in My Heart" by DoctorMalkayne
The one-shot written by DoctorMalkayne opens with a striking introduction to the female protagonist and likewise presents a concise background of her career. The general wordplay of the writer does not merely make the reader intrigued but also leaves them expecting more.
The tragic backstory, along with glimpses of her childhood with her brother, showcases the special bond of siblings and carries a sense of nostalgia. The relevance to the real world is displayed immaculately, making it relevant to the readers.
The sweet yet emotional ending with the protagonist addressing her brother as “Her golden picture” is sure to leave a smile on the reader’s face.
