"Aang! Aang, wake up!" Mara yelled as she sat next to the boy her age.

She knelt on the ground and she gave him a soft smile as she saw the look of terror on his face.

"It's okay we're in the village now." Mara stood up and pointed her thumb at the opening of the tent as she said. "Come get up, everyone's been waiting to meet you."

Aang gave her a small smile before putting his shirt back on, Mara couldn't help but let her eyes travel over his arms and follow where the tattoos went. It even went on top of his foot. She gasped in wonder, she couldn't help but add that to the list of questions she had for him. After he put on his shirt and shoes, Mara grabbed onto Aang and dragged him out of the tent. Aang saw Sokka sitting in front of the tent sharpening his boomerang and winked at him with a smile, Mara dragged him in front of a group of people as she gestured to them with a wide smile.

"Aang this is the entire village." Mara introduced Aang to the village first before looking at Aang showing him her smile as she said. "Entire village, Aang."

Aang put his staff in both of his hands and bowed to the village, the woman grabbed onto their children in slight fear that the child in front of them may hurt them somehow. Aang smiled nervously as he waved his hand awkwardly, staff in the other hand as he whispered to Mara.

"Why are they all looking at me like that? Did Appa sneeze on me?"

An elderly woman walked up to Mara and Aang, with the help of Katara as the elderly woman said to answer the young boy's question.

"Well no one has seen an Airbender in a hundred years, we all thought they were extinct. Until my granddaughters and grandson found you."

Aang frowned when he heard one word out of that whole sentence as he questioned no one in particular.

"Extinct?"

"Aang, this is our grandmother." Katara said with a warm smile.

"Call me Gran Gran." Gran Gran said with a nod of her head.

Sokka came up beside Aang and Mara and snatched the staff out of Aang's hand as he lifted it up in his hand as he questioned Aang.

"What is this, a weapon. You can't stab anything with this?"

Aang air-bended his staff back into his hands as he said in amusement.

"It's not for stabbing, it's for air-bending."

Aang pressed a button on the staff which caused a glider to sprout out, the kids all looked on with wonder as a little girl said excitedly.

"Magic trick, do it again."

Mara smiled at the girl before looking over at Aang who was smiling widely at the girl, staff raised in the air slightly.

"Not magic, air-bending. It lets me control the air currents around my glider and fly." Aang explained to everyone, as he moved the glider from one side to the other.

Aang turned to look at Mara, smiling even wider at the look of curiosity in her eyes. Sokka crossed his arms over his chest as he scoffed, causing Aang's smile to drop slightly as the older boy said.

"You know, last time I checked. Humans can't fly."

Aang put the glider on his back, holding onto it as he said, taking that as a challenge.

"Check again."

He jumped into the air causing everyone to gasp, he flew in circles and in the air. He flew by some of the village people, the kids laughing and running after him and Aang's smile couldn't be wiped off his face. He flew over Gran Gran, Katara and Mara and the way Mara smiled up at him in wonder, tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear caused him to forget where he was at and stare down at her in adoration.

He then went straight into a snow fort, Mara and Katara both had their hands covering their mouths in shock. Aang pushed with all his might to get his head stuck out of the snow fort and was pushed onto the ground when he successfully did get his head unstuck.

The snow fort fell onto the unsuspecting Airbender and his glider fell along with it, Sokka looked at the now ruined fort with despair as he muttered out weakly.

"My watch tower."

Mara and Katara quickly ran over to Aang to check up on him, Mara smiling as she stopped in front of the broken watch tower and offered Aang her hand to help him.

"That was amazing." Katara and Mara said at the same time.

Aang grabbed Mara's hand and she pulled him up with ease, Aang taking his glider with him on the way up. The three were surrounded by the children, Sokka quickly running up to join them. He ran past Aang and Mara and put his hand on the watch tower looking up with worry, suddenly a pile of snow hit up causing him to fall to the ground as he shouted in pain. He say up in the pile of snow with a frown on his face as he said with a sarcastic smile.

"Great, you're an Airbender, Katara is a water bender. Together you can waste time all day long."

He stood up from the pile of snow that fell on him and stomped a little ways away, Aang looked up at Katara with wide eyes as he said excitedly.

"You're a water bender?!"

"Well sort of, not yet?" Katara said with a small frown on her face.

"What about you Mara?" Aang asked with a curious look on his face.

"I'm not sure, I haven't tried." Mara answered honestly with a small smile.

"Alright, no more playing. Come on Katara, Mara you have chores." Gran Gran sternly said to the two girls, she gestured for them to follow her which they did not before Mara gave Aang one last smile.

"We told you he's the real thing, Gran Gran." Katara said as they walked towards the tents and away from the watchtower. "I finally found a bender to teach me, and maybe even Mara."

"Katara, Mara, try not to put all your hopes into this boy." Gran Gran warned the two girls, causing Mara to frown in disagreement.

"But he's special, I can tell. I sense he's filled with much wisdom." Mara told her grandmother as she looked over at the said boy.

The said boy had his staff frozen to his tongue and the kids around him watched in wonder and amusement as he said.

"See? Now my tongue is stuck to my staff."

One of the little boys tried pulling the staff causing Aang to move with it and groan in pain, the children laughed at his misfortune. Mara looked back over at her grandmother and Katara one of which had a smile of amusement on her face. Gran Gran sighed before moving towards one of the tents, Katara stood next to her sister as she teased her.

"He has wisdom huh?"

"Hey, I'm only twelve." Mara said with a shrug of her shoulders as she chased after grandmother.

Katara let out a laugh as she called out teasingly to her sister.

"Does that mean Sokka is as smart as he says he is!"
