Once I made it to the cafeteria, I sat down next to Ibuki, my closest friend.

"Kyoko! Where have you been?"

"I was in the library."

"Really? Why there?"

"I was just talking to Hagakure."

"Ooh Hiro, huh?" she smirked.

"Not at all. I just had a few questions for him."

"Alright, fine. So do you like anyone?"

"No."

"You're blushing."

"I'm not blushing because I like someone, I'm blushing because you're accusing me of it."

"...fine."

I sighed. I loved her and all, but I knew she'd never let this go. Ibuki started talking about a song she was writing as the bell went off and interrupted her.

"Man, lunch should be longer, dontcha agree? Hey, wanna skip class today?"

"Why would I want to skip class with you?"

"Hey, you know we won't get in trouble if we practice our talents."

"Do you plan on practicing music?"

"I will if you don't hang out with me. You can do anything and say you're investigating."

"That's not how it works."

We turned the corner together and ran into none other than Naegi and Maizono.

"Oh, my bad!" Makoto apologized.

Ibuki stumbled right into Sayaka, "Woah!"

Sayaka mumbled an apology as she lightly pushed Ibuki off of her.

Makoto laughed awkwardly. "So you guys are off to class too?"

I nodded, "Ye-"

Ibuki cut me off, "Nah, we're gonna practice our talents, since, you know, that's the only thing that matters at grad anyway."

She grabbed my arm and pulled me away, "Which one is it?"

"What are you talking about."

"You were acting weird."

"I didn't even say anything!"

"You like one of them, just admit it! So which one?" Her joy was practically radiating off of her.

"Neither."

"Oh come on! I told you I liked Mikan!"

"You told the whole school. You wrote a song about her and performed it for the whole school."

"You were the first person I told."

"Yeah like, two seconds before you went on stage."

"Whatever, just tell me!"

"You can't keep a secret."

"So there is a secret!"

"I never said that. I simply said you couldn't keep a secret."

"Is it Sayaka or Makoto?"

"I said neither, leave it, Ibuki," I snapped.

Ibuki looked slightly taken aback, "Fine, I'm sorry."

"Ibuki, I'm sorry."

"No really, it's fine, I'm sure I'll figure it out anyway. Wanna go to the convenience store?"

I smiled, "Not really, but let's go."

She cheered and grabbed my hand, dragging me down the hall with her.

lmao I know it's a short chapter, my apologies
