I studied my shoes as I waited for Yasuhiro Hagakure in the library. I didn't particularly care for him, but I thought he might be useful for right now.

"Hey, Kyoko!" Makoto came and stood in front of me.

Shoot. I forgot he'd be here.

"Hi, Naegi," I never realized how uninterested I sounded.

"Not really surprised to see you here, but without a book or anything? What's up?" He pulled a chair and sat next to me.

"Oh, I'm waiting for Hagakure. I planned on meeting him here."

"Oh, Hiro. Huh."

"And you're waiting for Maizono I suspect?"

"Yeah, actually. How'd you know?"

"Naegi, I'm half certain the entire class could hear you making plans."

"Yeah, I guess we were being a bit loud, huh? That's a little embarrassing, everyone knowing a need help with my homework."

"I don't think it's too bad. A lot of people could be needing help but not accepting it. I'm sure you'll end up doing a lot better than them."

"Hey, you're right. I never realized you could be so positive."

"Yeah, it doesn't seem to be my thing."

Makoto looked down awkwardly. "So, um, I was actually-"

"Naegi?" Maizono appeared in front of us, book in hand.

"Oh, hey Maizono! I got here a bit early and was talking to Kyoko."

"How did you even get here early? We have the same classes."

"Oh, I got out early after I finished the assignment."

"Oh, I see," she turned her attention to me.

"Can I help you?"

"Oh- I was just wondering how you got here early?"

"I don't see how that concerns you."

"Oh, I'm sorry," she turned to Naegi, "should we find a table to work at?"

"Yeah, sure."

Hagakure pushed Makoto aside. "Kyoko! Sorry I'm late, my teacher was assigning extra homework. So not fair. Also, how long's this gonna take? I have plans in ten. Anyways, what's up?" he took a seat with me and Naegi and Maizono went to find a different table. I felt bad for acting coldly towards Maizono. Perhaps I was jealous? Nevertheless, that wasn't her fault. I should leave her out of this.

"Hagakure, can you promise me not to tell anyone about this?"

"Yeah, sure, I guess. I don't think I'd have to tell anyone."

"How far does your ultimate go?

"Ultimate clarivoyante? I'm right thirty percent of the time!"

I sighed, "Right." I suppose he was my best bet. "What do you know about human emotions?"

"Man, I'm great at those! Watch!"

"Wha-"

Hagakure pointed at Naegi. "He totally likes someone in our homeroom!"

Maizono and Naegi looked at us, and I slapped Hagakure's arm.

"Can you keep it down?"

"Oh, my bad. You still heard me though, right?"

"Of course I- whatever. Do you know who it is?"

"Well, not for sure, but I don't think it's Yamada or Enoshima."

"That's all you know?"

"Hey, I have other things to pay attention to, too, you know!"

"Right, anyway-"

"Wait a sec. Do you like him?"

"What? Of course not, don't be ridiculous. I was just curious because you mentioned it, that's all. I actually wanted to ask you how to tell if you had feelings for someone yourself."

"That's all? Oh, that's easy. If you're wondering whether you like someone in particular or not, you probably do. Anyways, you owe me now."

"I owe you?"

"Yeah, food, money, pretty much anything works."

"I'm not paying you."

"Oh come on! Please?"

I picked up my bag, "no."

Well after that waste of time, I might still be able to make to the cafeteria. I made my way in that direction when I stumble across no one else than Byakuya. Again.

"Kirigiri? What are you?"

"I was on my way to the cafeteria."

"At this time?"

"I was in the library."

"Oh. I wasn't aware you knew such places existed."

"Togami, I do just as well as you academically."

Byakuya scoffed, "Sure. Could you leave me now?"

"I've never wanted to do anything more."
