They told me
To let go and dream of torture and horrible things of that kind
They told me
Your only good as a thought you keep in your head when you unlock your mind
They told me
You'll never win because you're doomed to fail and everything you do just ain't right
They told me
I needed to quit acting like a child and grow up and get on with my life
I told them....

It had been five days since Draco had heard from Hermione. Five horrible days. He scolded himself for his attitude, getting worked up over some girl a week ago he couldn't care less about. How stupid could he be?

Yet night after night he drank himself to sleep. Every night the dreams came, starting innocently enough. Lying in bed with her, the smell of her was so real he couldn't help but believe the dream was real. It was all a replay of the night they'd spent together. At least until everything would start to go black.

Like rain clouds sweeping in everything would turn black and he'd be left sitting alone in a forest. It took him a night to realize it was The Forbidden Forest. It would be dark and he would feel as though something was coming. As he sat, paralyzed by fear, a unicorn would appear before him. It's white coat shining almost as if it were glowing. Then something hit it, a hooded figure knocking the unicorn to the forest ground. The figures head lowered its head to the unicorn and a silvery substance began to spill from its skin.

Before Draco could even manage to cry out, everything would freeze. The black clouds would sweep in blocking him from the unicorns death. As they finally dispersed, the unicorn was replaced by a small fragile looking girl. Her brown curls splayed across the forest floor, as red ran from her neck. The hooded figure would turn to him losing his hood, and pure terror would run through Draco's veins at the man in front of him. His long blond hair so light it was almost white, and his cold dead grey eyes holding nothing but disgust. He would curl his lips into a sneer that Draco had come to hate and speak, in a deadly draw. "You dare let a filthy mudblood grace your presence Draco? Remember who you are, son."

Every morning he would wake up, soaked in sweat, screaming before he ran to the bathroom to be sick. He was no stranger to nightmares, but this new one took sick and cruel to a whole other level. All the liquor in the world wouldn't save him, and he had no idea how he was going to face Hermione. The last whistle had just blown on the Hogwarts Express and he knew she would be in the compartment soon. They were both required to spend the ride in the Head Prefects compartment before they met with McGonagall, then addressed the prefects.

His eyes shot up as the door slowly slid open and Hermione stepped in. Draco's heart immediately sank. She looked horrible, dark rings surrounding her sad eyes, her lids ringed with red. She'd been crying, a lot from the looks of it.

"Hermione... I just-"

"Don't. Don't you dare pretend to pity me Malfoy! Just keep your mouth shut. All I want is peace and quiet." She said.

She tried to throw her trunk into the overhead compartment, but lost her footing. Before she could fall, Draco grabbed her by the hips, and steadied her. He smiled down at her as he grabbed her truck and pushed it into the compartment.

"Uh... Thanks." Was all Hermione said grabbing a book from her backpack. She stretched out across the bench seat and began reading, blocking her face with the book.

"You can't totally ignore me forever. We can't go into that meeting with McGonagall all pissed off, she surely expects us to work together." Draco said after a moment.

Hermione shot up and rounded on him. "We will work together. We will run meetings together, we'll plan events together, complete rounds together, and we do every other task that requires us to work together. That's it though. I'm not going to filth up your life, I won't be a drunken conquest. You were drunk and made a mistake, you invited me to stay, and you told me you liked me. I'm sorry I was a drunken accident thrust upon you, but you owe me nothing. So let's just drop this." She couldn't help the tears peaking at the corners of her eyes, and Draco couldn't help but notice.
