She looks at Sam and smiles. Sam continues to gaze at her

Galadriel: Do not let your hearts be troubled. Go now and rest for you are weary with sorrow and much toil. Tonight you will sleep in peace… (speaks to Frodo in his mind) Welcome Frodo of the Shire. One who has seen the Eye!

Later, back on the ground, an area has been provided for them to rest in.

The hobbits are settling down. In the trees, the Elves singing can be heard

End of recap...

Third person pov...

Legolas: A lament for Gandalf.

Merry looks up towards the trees

Merry: What do they say about him?

Legolas: I have not the heart to tell you. For me the grief is still too near.

The Hobbit looks to Calen to ask but decides not to after see her sharpen her dagger hard with an angered look on her face.

Sam: I bet they don’t mention his fireworks. There should be a verse about them.

“The finest rockets ever seen They burst in stars of blue and green Or after thunder, silver showers…

Aragorn shoves Gimli, who is pretending to snore, Calen snorts slightly but seems forced.

Sam:…Came falling like a…rain of flowers”

Oh, that doesn’t do them justice by a long road.

Aragorn walks over to Boromir, who is seated alone on a great tree root.

Aragorn: Take some rest. These borders are well-protected.

Boromir: I will find no rest here. I heard her voice inside my head. She spoke of my father and the fall of Gondor. She said to me “Even now there is hope left.” But I cannot see it. It is long since we had any hope. My father is a noble man, but his rule is failing. And now our people lose faith. He looks to me to make things right and I would do it. I would see the glory of Gondor restored. Have you ever seen it Aragorn? The White tower of Ecthelion, glimmering like a spike of pearl and silver. Its banners caught high in the morning breeze. Have you ever been called home by the clear ringing of silver trumpets?

he turns towards Aragorn

Aragorn: I have seen the White City, long ago.

Boromir: One day, our paths will lead us there. And the tower guards shall take up the call: “The Lords of Gondor have returned!”

After his talk with Boromir Aragorn walks to where his way word sister is and talks to her as she is obviously not tired.

"Elfling" she turns to him "please do not beat yourself up about Gandalf it is not your fault he did it on his own terms he know he wouldn't likely survive" he said softly pulling the young elf in for a much needed hug.

Calen sighs sadly and let's the sadness out on her dear brothers shoulder.
They don't speak just wait for Calen to calm down from crying.

A few minutes later she stops but doesn't let go of Aragorn, and Aragorn can tell that something else is bothering her.

"there is something else that makes you sad, right Elfling" he whispered to her, Calen nods her head and pulls away slightly from him.

"i feel sad" she whispered

"why do you feel sad Elfling" he asked just as quiet

"the way I left things with Ada" she said making Aragorn understand, she was sad, with how she left things back in Rivendell.

Aragorn rubbed her back comfortingly in circles "it's okay adar understands, he does we all understand why you reacted like you did Calen" he muttered

"I didn't even hug him Brother, and I always hug him when I leave for missions, what if something happens to us because I didn't hug him" she cried tears forming again.

Aragorn continued to comfort her slowly but finally she feel into a light sleep with Aragorns arms around her.

Calen had always been an emotional Elfling, hugging Elrond goodbye was something she always did no matter how old she is.

It was a tradition for the two, whenever one of them had to leave Rivendell they would always hug each other as a promise to come home.

And Calen is worried about her dad thinking she still hates him but really she loves him very dearly.

Eventually the Fellowship are all asleep.

To be continued...

Oh no Calen is worried, Gandalf is 'Dead' what will happen next .
