HAPPY NEW YEAR!
'Mummy, what's a New Year's resolution?' Claire asked one day, when she heard her parents talking about it.
'You make a New Year's resolution when you decide to do something good for a whole year, or, if you decide to stop doing something bad for a whole year,' explained Mummy.
'But you have to decide on New Year's Day, and that's today; the first of January!'
Soon she heard Claire talking to the cat in her bedroom, and crept close to listen. 'Tibs, you're not going to catch birds for a year, and then I won't smack you for a year.' Two good resolutions, thought Mummy.
