twelve hours later .. startled, I woke
had a throbbing, migraine headache
a very beautiful young lady
she held my head in her warm lap
dabbing my eyes with a cool, wet face towel
she'd been gently rubbing my temples
looked deep into my troubled eyes
related i'd been screaming .. venecia
jerking my head from side to side
said she wanted to calm me
she told me her name is cindy
fiery red hair .. lovely blue eyes
a beautiful face I couldn't place
come to find out
she's an arkansas girl
I made it to the tiny bathroom
vigorously brushed my teeth
spent the next hour kissing her
felt her passion rise with mine
bus stopped .. hesitantly she got off
casually handing me her phone number
I wanted to get off of the bus too
there .. then she put up her hand
related she lives with her parents
it just wouldn't work .. presently
sat back in my seat .. sad, as night fell
made it to forest, mississippi
called lovie .. said how are you
fine she replied .. engaged now
next stop was el dorado, arkansas
I recall lisa said stop .. visit anytime
I chanced calling her house
she was happy to hear from me
related she'd meet me downtown
in one hour .. we'll eat somewhere
my eyes lit up when she arrived at tiger dan's restaurant
