Chapter 07

"Hoy, ang aarte ng mga IG stories niyo!"

Lian rolled her eyes at me. After Steve and I posted each other on our IG story, they kept on teasing me. It's monday and we're here at school, usual day lang. Nakita ko lang sina Lian at Addie sa gate kaya sabay-sabay na kaming pumasok na tatlo. It's november na and 2 months na lang matatapos na 'yung sem.

Hindi ako nagsalita because I'm guilty.

"Label muna!" Addie said while we're walking. I was about to defend myself but then I heard a man calling me.

"Calynn!"

I looked at the man. "Chris," I called him too. He's my friend from PolSci club. I joined PolSci club this year. Gusto ko rin kasi 'yung lumalawak 'yung mundo ko. I am the Vice President in PolSci club.

"May meeting daw mamaya, ah. Natanggap mo ba 'yung text?" he said when he went near me. Right! We have a meeting later. I almost forgot.

"Yeah! I forgot, good thing pinaalala mo." I said to him.

"See you later." he smiled a bit as he walked away.

"Close pala kayo?" Lian asked me.

"Not so close, we had a few talks sa PolSci club. He's nice naman." I answered.

Paalis na sana kami when I saw Steve looking at us from afar, medyo nakakunot 'yung noo niya. Hindi ko na lang siya pinansin, we just went to our class instead.

After class, we have a meeting. I saw Chris walking at the corridor. I called him so we could go together sa meeting. He's also a PolSci, Block 2 siya at Block 1 ako.

I went near him. "Sabay na tayo?"

"Okay."

We went to our meeting, sinabi lang na mayroon daw upcoming event, 'Debate Inter-Department'. Hindi pa raw namin alam kung anong department 'yung ilalaban sa amin at pipili sila ng magrerepresent sa PolSci. Hindi pa napag-uusapan kung sino, inannounce lang kung kailan 'yung event at kung ano 'yung mga mangyayari.

Paglabas namin ng room ng PolSci club, my foot slipped kaya na-out of balance ako, muntikan na akong mahulog, good thing naalalayan ako ni Chris.

"Careful," he said, holding my arms.

"Oh! Sorry and thank you." umayos ako ng tayo.

Ngumiti lang ako kay Chris bago kami maghiwalay. After that, umuwi na rin ako.

The next day ipinatawag ulit kami for a meeting.

We need 3 representatives, the first, second and third speaker. Nagbotohan kami. Chris, Jessy and I will represent our club. We are the negative team and the topic is 'Using Phone as an Alternative in Books and Notebooks in Class'.

We need to start our research as much as possible. 3 weeks from now raw 'yung event.

"I think we should start doing our research?" I asked Jessy and Chris nang makalabas kami ng room.

"I think so, too, are you available tomorrow? My class ends at 2:30." Chris answered. Hanggang 2:30 lang din ako every wednesday pero lakad namin nina Lian 'yon palagi. Sasabihin ko na lang na may gagawin ako at 'di ako makakasama sa kanila.

"I'm available, too, how 'bout you Jessy?" I looked at Jessy.

"I'm sorry, hindi ako available, start niyo na lang muna iyong research and then bawi ako sa mga susunod, promise."

"Okay." Chris replied.

As planned, after class ay nagpunta na kami sa isang coffee shop para magstart ng research. Medyo naninibago ako because Steve isn't talking to me, hinihintay ko rin 'yung chat niya pero hindi siya nagchachat.
