I stood out in the doorway watching everyone leave together. Tera and Thor flew to Asgard. Lila and Clint went to wherever they go. Barry finally got a some-what perfect family. Steve walked up to me and handed me a bag.

"Whats this?" I asked. "Urm..well."

"Ms. Rogers." Nick gestured me over to him.

I set the bag down and walked over to him and he shut he door. "Your father is well and alive." I'M SORRY WHAT?!

"A-are you serious?" I asked. "Yes. And he's out there." He pointed to Steve. "I-I don't understand."

"Well I'm sure you'll figure it out. In the meantime, go meet your dad."

Play the music now!

I ran out of the base. It makes sense. Why he looks like me, why we quickly bonded, the powers, 'the legacy' and 'big shoes to fill' about the shield. It all made sense.

"Um.." He handed me a piece of paper.

It was an adoption certificate.

"Um.. listen.. I know I wasn't the best father, obviously cause I wasn't there but I was hoping you would let me be your father." I smiled and hugged him.

"Yes!" He picked up the bag and handed it to me. "This has all of your belongings in it and I wanted to give you this." He handed me a dog tag.  "It was mine...but I have no use for it and you're my daughter now." I smiled at him again.

I'm finally getting what I've always wanted.

A family! I hopped on the back of Steve's motorcycle with my bag behind me and I put my helmet on. I wrapped my arms around his waist.

"Ready to go?"

"yes"

"Where are the Avengers?" The third member of the World Security Council asked me.

"I'm not currently tracking their whereabouts. I'd say they've earned a leave of absence." I said.

" And the Tesseract?" The second member asked. "The Tesseract is where it belongs: out of our reach."

"That's not your call." The first member said. " I didn't make it. I just didn't argue with the god that did."

"So you let him take it and the war criminal, Loki, who should be answering for his crimes?"

"Oh, I think he will be."

"I don't think you understand what you've started. Letting the Avengers loose on this world. They're dangerous."

"They surely are. And the whole world knows it. Every world knows it."

"Was that the point of all this? A statement?"

" A promise."

I walked out onto the bridge with Agent Hill. We looked out the window which showed the world.

"Sir, how does it work now? They've gone their separate ways, some pretty extremely far. We get into a situation like this again, what happens then?" Maria asked.

"They'll come back."

"You really sure about that?"

"I am."

"Why?"

 "Because we'll need them to."

Meanwhile in outer space...

"Humans. They are not the cowering wretches we were promised. They stand. They are unruly, and therefore cannot be ruled. To challenge them is to court...Death."
