c h a p t e r 1

Ellie, Get down here, your breakfast is ready, I hear mom's voice call from the kitchen downstairs.

"I will be down in and minute", I shout.

At that exact moment, I was in the shower taking my time to get all freshen up, I quickly came out of the bathroom and wrapped a towel around me as I proceed to look for an outfit in my closet.

I looked in the mirror as I tried on outfits that I could wear until I choose to go with jeans pants and a red t-shirt. It was already 7:00 am when I got a glimpse of my alarm.

I took up my school bag and was about to head out when I realized that I could wear a little makeup but not a lot to cover up my freckles.

"Good morning", I say as I enter the kitchen where mum was busy making pancakes, Jake my brother playing games, and aunty Rae sitting around the table reading a newspaper.

"Are you still planning to go away to Paris today?", I ask Rae.

She took a few sips of her coffee that was placed beside her plate of pancakes before she cleared her throat and answered.

"Yes", I am but I will be back in six months.

"Sorry to go so sudden it's just that my father is sick, I think he has cancer, so that's why I'm leaving".

"Oh, you don't have to apologize it's fine our family health is what matters" mum states.

To be honest I was a little sad but I didn't want to show her that I was.

She was like a second mother to both Jake and me, and whenever the two of us had conversations she understood me more than mum ever did.

She was staying with us because she had help around when dad died and helped mum regain strength, she was a mess when dad passed away.

My father was a police officer and he died trying to save a victim's life.

"Well I should get going I wouldn't want to miss the school bus again," I say as I ate the last piece of my pancake.

"Wait", Mum calls me back

I have something very important to say. "So you know Mr. and Mrs. Ashton" she questions.

I shook my head in response.

''Well as you know we all are very close friends, they will be leaving today for a business trip for five weeks and decided to let their son Tristan stay with us until they return-''

"What the hell", I cut her off and you didn't think to tell me a little bit earlier, I snap.

"I known, I wasn't thinking" she states.

"Who's room will he stay in? I ask

"We have two extra rooms don't be silly Ellie", I will let him stay in the room next to yours.

My heartache at the moment thinking of the hottest, and handsome boy at our school Tristan Ashton staying here at my home.

I've always liked Tristan from 8th grade, but he never once spoke to me so I kept my distance and my feeling to myself.

"At what time will they reach here"? I say been curious.

"Well, they have an early flight so they will be here any minute-"

The doorbell rang before mum could finish talking.

"Don't worry I'll get the door".

My hand was on the doorknob and in a quick turn of the handle, the door slid open.

Hey come in, my eye was on the floor then I moved them up to the figure standing in front of me which seems to be Tristan.

He mutters few words.

"Hey I'm Tristan", That's a really stupid way to start. He hits his forehead.

I could honestly tell by his facial expression that he was nervous, But for what though.

"I think you already know me since we both attend Rosewood high", he says.

"Yes I know you," I say in response, I would give you a house tour but I'm running late already for school I think the bus already left. "How about I do that after". "Just let me help you with your suitcase for now".

"Are they here yet"? "Did they reach on time"? Mum asked as she rushed and came to the door where both Tristan and I were.

Yes, "My parents couldn't get to talk so they said they were going send you a text message once they reach and settle in", Tristan said while he was trying not to look nervous.

Well, this is our home mom reveals the humble home and introduces him to Rae and Jake.

"Well that's all for the house and wait I almost forgot there's a pool behind the house if you ever want to swim". And I'll just let Ellie show you your room upstairs. Mum states.

"Sure yes I will I'd love that", he replies.

"So this is your room", over there is the closet, and here is the bathroom".

I'll give you some blankets in a second I offer.

Thank you for this he said with a large grin on his face.

Why are you smiling if you don't mind me asking?

He took a second before he spoke.

"It's just that it's kind of weird that I will be staying the next few weeks here. Over the years I've recognized you but I didn't talk to you because I was a little bit afraid".

Afraid of me? I am a totally cool person.

''I'm starting to realize that now I guess I judge you too quickly'', he says.

"Do you want a ride"? it's the least I can do.

Sure let's go, I say

Walking towards Tristan's motorcycle I couldn't stop thinking about how shocking it will seem, been on a motorcycle with Tristan It would seem as if we were some sort of couple.

I wonder what my friends would think.

Here, he hands me a red helmet, safety comes first he scoffs.

I rolled my eye at him.

You know when you offered me a ride I taught it was a car, I didn't expect a bike.

Well, he cleared his throat then continue my dad got it for me a few months ago he said it was a birthday gift.

That's great, I answered.

Within seconds I was on top of his bike, I held him tightly around his chest, I honestly could feel his abs.

I guess he works out a lot at the gym.
