Chapter 4

Bella's POV

After a few moments of cleaning Ben and I finally got his office all cleaned up. Ben sat at his desk while I looked out the window. I'm going to have to look for Mal later and see if she's okay. I was showing Ben the list of people who were for sure coming just as there was a knock at the door.

Knock knock knock

Evie's head poked in.

"Ben?" She questioned

"Evie!" Ben said getting up from his seat "come on in"

Evie closed the door behind her and the look on her face has me very concerned.

"Evie, what happened?" I asked

"Mal's home back to the isle" she stated

My eyes widen in shock. Back to the isle, was it even safe for her to return!? I looked over at Ben and his expression broke my heart. I can't imagine what he is feeling right now. Evie walked over to us and handed Ben a note. Ben looked at the note but before he could read it Evie gave him the ring he gave Mal. He took the ring and scrabbled trying to read Mal's note.

"Ben," I said softly while grabbing onto his shoulder

"This is my fault, this is my fault..I...I blew it. She's been under so much pressure lately and instead of being understanding, I went all beast on her. I have to go there and apologize."

"Ben I don't know if that's wise. You can't just walk into unknown places by yourself." I said

"I have to go there and beg her to come back"

"Ben, you'll never find her," Evie said "you need to know the isle and how it works"

Ben walked to the window and looked out into the trees.

"You have to take me with you," Evie said

Ben turned around, "yes! Uh..are you sure?"

Evie started to nod her head.

"Yeah, she's my best friend. And we'll bring the boys too because there is safety in numbers. And none of us is really too popular over there right now" she said

"Thank you," Ben said

"Let's get two things straight, you have to promise me that I won't be stuck there again," Evie said

"I promise," Ben said

"Woah Woah Woah, you think that I'm just gonna let you four go to the isle! You're insane!" I started

"Bells please I have to do this" Ben pleaded

I shook my head. I can't believe I'm about to do something so stupid.

"Fine." I said and Ben had a look of gratefulness on his face "but I'm going with you"

His expression changed in an instant you could obviously tell that he didn't want me going.

"No way! It's dangerous" he stated

"And? You're going" I pointed out "We're siblings. We have to do this together" 

Ben thought for a second and nodded. Like he actually thought I was going to let him go without me.

"That's settled then. But you two can't go looking like that." Evie said

Ben and I looked at each other, oh boy.
