12 waking up

When I woke up I felt refreshed. I stretched and turned my head to see Josh watching me. 
"Good morning beautiful." he smiled. 
"Hardly." I laughed. 
"Why don't think you're pretty?" his brow furrowed. I just looked at him for a while. 
"Because I'm not." I sighed looking away. He wiped my brown hair out of my face and leaned over to kiss me. 
"I'm loving your freckles." I smiled. He had freckles over the bridge of his nose and they darkened from the sun. He smiled and held my hand to help me up. 

The next few weeks were probably the best weeks of my life. Hanging out with Jessica and Joe, and Joe and I's stoken kisses were the best kisses. Unfortanately.. We had to go back to school, summer didn't last forever. When school started I felt like I just woke up from a dream. As school drug on, Joe and I saw less of each other. But still saw each other in school and times I went to Jessica's the love was there... But he was graduating and goin to college. So sooner or later I'd have to move on. In May we were faced with a challenge. I was at Jessica's hanging out with Joe it was the 10th. 
We were laying on the couch I was in his lap and our feet were entangled like always we were sitting in silence me playing with his fingers. His heart was beating slowly and it kind of reminded me of the first night we were alone at the campground. 
"Alley?" he said. 
"Hm?" I replied still distracted with his fingers. 
"I love you a lot..and no matter what happens I do I promise." 
" Well I love you too Joe... But you graduate on the 15th then your going to California...and you'll probably meet some br0ad there.." he sighed and nestled his head into my neck. 
"Joe.." I sighed, "I love you a lot too..but you can't expect it to work for 3 years long distance.." 
"Does this..are you breaking up with me.." I laughed and he chuckled a bit. 
"True love will wait." he said. 
"And if in 3 years you haven't met the other girl.." I said. 
"We will be together again." he finished. I stood up and he followed. 
"I'll probably see you at graduation.. But maybe not..so this is good bye.." I said slowly tears forming in my eyes. He wiped a tear away with his thumb. 
"It will work out." 
"I hope so." I cried. He bent down to kiss me and I jumped into his arms. 
"I love you." I said before walking out the door. 
"Always." he mouthed back waving. So this is where the fairy tail ended and life started.
