Ch 2 Bathroom Moments & Stolen Fries

(Maddie's POV)

I've never seen someone eat so much in my entire life. I continue to stare as Niall swallows half a burger whole. He lets out a burp and blushes.

"Uh, 'scuse me." We just laugh.

"So what are you doing over here in London if you're a Canadian Madison?" Liam asks.

"Um, well, I guess I just wanted to see the world and travel." I reply uncomfortably.

"What about life at home?" Louis questions.

"Um" I stall. "It's, uh, fine. My parents are good."

"And siblings?" I can't help but blink back tears at that question. Why does Liam keep pushing me?

"A sister." I whisper.

"How old is she?" Harry has an evil glint in his eye. Jenn deflates a little beside him.

"She's taken." I answer looking him dead in the eye. I didn't need my sister to date every single player in this world.

"Well how old are you then?" Zayn inquires.

"18" I say cautiously. Why did he care? "My sister is three years older than me."

"We should play 20 questions guys!" Niall says suddenly. "That way we can learn more about her while she learns about us!" Everyone nods excitedly while I shift uncomfortably. These guys sure are eager.

"Me first!" Jenn calls, still trying to save my butt. She knows all about the problems at home.

"Niall. How can you stuff your face all day long and never feel full." She says pointedly.

"What can I say?" He answers easily. "I'm a growing man." He flexes his muscles to prove it. We all laugh at his goofiness.

"Harry. What is it that attracts you to older women?"

"Good one Niall!" Louis crows.

"I guess it's 'cos they're a bit of a challenge. But never one to big for Harry Styles!" He says flashing those dimples. He turns to Jenn.

"Are you single babe?", he asks casually. Jenn turns beet red. My mouth falls open. Does Harry...have a crush?

"Um, n-no." She stutters, not having come out of shock.

"Good." He says, yet again, flashing the dimples. I thought poor Jenn was gonna faint.

"NIALL GET OUT OF MY FRENCH FRIES, THEY'RE MINE!" , Zayn shouts. Niall backs off, his cheeks bulging with Zayn's fries.

"Here Leppy, you can have some of mine." Louis flicks a fry at him.

"Maddie it's your turn."

"Ok um" I search the group looking for a worthy victim. "Zayn." He glances up from protecting his fries. "Are you a virgin?" He stares at me confused, probably wondering why it mattered. I don't really know why I asked. It just seemed important somehow.

"No." He says slowly, dragging out the 'O'.

"Oh." ,is all is say, disappointed. I shouldn't be feeling this, but I was. The butterflies I'd had, asking him the question, were now long gone.

Zayn questions Liam next, but I tune out. Did I have feelings for Zayn? He continuously makes me blush and the 'butterflies' I'd had were rampaging elephants, much like when we first met. I've never had a reaction this strong, towards a guy before.

Butterflies aren't new to me because I've dated a few times in the past. There was one guy, Jake. I thought I'd fallen for him, but really it was just my desperation to get a boyfriend when I was 15, he 17. We dated for 2 weeks before I found out he'd been cheating on me. It had all just been a bet that he could make any girl fall for him. Both him, his friends, AND his girlfriend laughed at me. I was lucky though. Turns out he'd done similar bets like that all the time, and those girls had actually fallen. When his one nice friend broke the news to me, I had just been sad and felt foolish. No actual heartbreak because I'd never really cared for him. But that doesn't mean I'm not wary of other guys now. I don't know Zayn well enough to judge him, so if likes, we'll just be friends.

"DON'T INSULT MY CARROTS NIALL!" ,Louis yelled, causing heads to turn, including a few fans.

"Oh my gosh it's One Direction!" , a few 12-year-olds squeal.

"WELL YOU NEVER LET ME EAT THEM!" Niall hollers back, ignoring the fans.

Louis starts to reply but Harry interrupts.

"It's all right Boobear, Hazza gots ya." Harry says in a soothing voice. Louis cuddles into Harry's arms, fake crying.

"He's so mean to me and my carrots Hazzabear!" Louis whines. "Just tell him to go away!" I see Liam roll his eyes, but I can't help but coo. Larry Stylinson moment!

By this time the girls had come over and were snapping away with their cameras, while one tapes the whole thing.

"Is she your girlfriend Harry?" The tall one asks referring to Jenn. Harry starts to answer, but they've already moved on.

"Which one of you is dating the fat one?" A probably anorexic girl by the looks of her waist demands.

I shrink down in my seat, ready to cry. I wasn't fat. I wasn't. Was I? I don't dare look at what I thought was a flat enough stomach. These people don't know me, yet they insult me. What kind of fans would treat their idols friends like that?!

"HEY" Zayn, stands up, a murderous look on his face. "The paparazzi are bad enough, but our own fans? If you don't respect our friends, then you are no fans of ours." He starts to storm off, but turns around instead, dragging me with him. I follow along listlessly, dazed from the hurt those girls brought on me.

We arrive in the restaurant bathroom, but whether it's the women's or the men's, I'm not sure.

"Hey." He says softly. I don't reply for fear the tears will spill over. "You okay?" A sob escapes my lips as I try to tell him I'm fine. He pulls me into a hug, his strong arms surrounding me. I relax immediately, automatically feeling safe and secure. I snuggle in, my head resting on his chest. Sighing in content, I close my eyes. His arms tighten around me, flooding my little body with warmth. It was perfect. This is where I belong, I thought.

We stay like that for awhile.

OOOOOOOO cliffhanger!! Well maybe not. But I'll turn it into a cliffhanger by getting u thinking.

I actually have no idea if Zayn is a virgin or not but in this story, he's not.

So I came up with a name for my fans!

I've been calling u darlings a lot but it's not very fun. So I will continue to call u that until I think of something better!! FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST!!!
