Gina's POV

The impulsive part of my brain wants to find an escape route while the rational part wants me to go up to him.Just go past him, then, Jenna snaps. You know what? Why not? I grab Josh's hand and walk into the motel, avoiding Cody. "Mama, Uncle Cody's back there!" Josh exclaims.

"Sometimes it's just awkward, buddy," I reply. Goddess, I hate these sort of situations! I book a room for the night for Josh and I. As we head towards the room, I contemplate what I'll do next. Do I have to talk to him? Yes, Jenna states. I feel a bit conflicted.

I open the room door. It's not big, but it'll do. I take out my phone to check the time, since there's no clock in this room, and see the message light blinking. I unlock the screen and check it out.

-Nate & Klara want to know when you're coming back.

Just from Theresa. I text back my reply. I stuff my phone back in my pocket without even glancing at it. You just missed something! Jenna says. I scoff. How can you miss something from a text? I ignore it and continue to look around.

I spy Josh jumping on one of the single beds, and I set him back down on the floor. Something feels slightly off about this place, but I can't put my finger on it. I think about it for a minute. Wait. Just me again. What is wrong with me? It's like my intelligence diminished, or something.

Why am I so nervous? I ask myself. It's like every fibre of my being is warning me about something. I almost have a heart attack when my phone makes a noise. Begrudgingly, I pull it back out. Just a reminder. The message light is also blinking. I unlock it and check it out. A text.

-Apology accepted. I'm also sorry. -Cody

I smile like an idiot. It's a start if some sort, I suppose. I still can't shake the nervous feeling, though. And I can't help but feel it's related to all of this... I turn the ringer up on my phone, just so I'll hear it if it goes off again. I set it down on the coffee table.

It starts ringing the second I put it down. What is this madness? I pick it up and consider answering it. It's not a number I recognise. I do it anyways and press the phone to my ear. "Hello?" I ask.

Kind of lame chappie. Don't have to tell me twice. A bit more like a filler, I suppose. The real creepiness starts next chapter.

I have horror story ideas. Don't judge me.

Happy #HumpDay Humans, Wolves, and Vampires! Others also!

Comment the word CamelsAreFunny if you're happy it's the middle of the week!
