June 2, 2162, other side of mountain.
Well we made it down the mountain safely. Other then my my fall when I twisted my right arm, that's why this hand writing is different, it's a good thing I can still write though. So when we got all the way down we discovered a cave. Bill wanted to have a look inside and he never came out. It turns out a pack of flesh hounds lived there. Those decaying pieces of rotten flesh probably ate the poor guy. On the bright side it's one less mouth to feed. 12.

Gertrude

"Lieutenant, have you seen Joe?" I ask.

"He is... well actually I'm not sure. Sorry Gertrude," he replies.

"It's alright. But if you see hime please let him know I'm looking for him," I say.

"Yes ma'am" Jack says and turns to leave.

"Hmm, now what?" I ask myself. "I guess I'll just go look for Joe since he's not around here," So I leave and look for Joe.

I walk a little while and it's not to long until I see a bloody fanged feline.

"Damn, I sure wish I could use my AK for this piece of shit," I say aloud. I pull my gun from my belt and shoot the thing in the head.

"Hey that was pretty good for someone with a twisted arm," I rejoice.

"Yeah that wasn't too bad Gertrude," I hear Joe say.

"Joe, I didn't think anyone was watching," I blush. "Where were you anyway?"

"I was looking for you. I want to talk to the group so let's head back. And Gertrude, you really shouldn't go wandering around by yourself," Joe sighs. "It's dangerous,"

"Joe, I can handle myself out here. I'm not a little kid so don't treat me li-" I'm cut off by a Bang! "What the hell was that for," I say in shock, but then look down at the zombie next to my feet. I feel my face turn red.

"I knew he was there the whole time," I say sarcastically.

"Sure you did Gertrude, sure you did," Joe just rolls his eyes at me. "Lets just get back okay?"

I smile slightly and then nod. We walk back and make some small talk. When we are finally back Joe tells us what we should do next.

"Alright. So climbing up a mountain was not a good idea. I think we should go south. We'll try to make it to the United States. Does anyone disagree?" Joe doesn't wait for an answer. "Good now lets move people,"

We walk for hours.

"Joe? Can we please rest we are exhausted," Bertha says and we all agree.

"Fine, we can be done for today," Joe says sounding reluctant.

Sun down to sun up seemed to go by so fast, yet I feel rested when I get up. No night terrors tonight I hope. I hate waking everyone up. I need air before I sleep. I pitch my tent with the others and then tell them I'm going for a little walk.
I start walking around our camp and a little ways into the woods trying to sort things out. Why do I keep having nightmares? It's not like me. Things are so messed up that's all. Stop trying to reason with yourself Gertrude things aren't messed up they are ruined. Don't sugar coat it.
"Ughhh," I groan to myself and start walking back to camp.
I just need a little sleep that's all. Yes sleep sweet sleep... And with that I doze off.
