"'It's going to be okay,' Caleb whispered, and I wasn't sure if he was talking more to himself or to me. In response I just stood there, terrified of what was about to happen. Terrified and excited all at the same time.

I was putting us both in danger by being here, alone with him. I knew I was setting us both up for disaster. And the worst part was I hardly even cared.

He wrapped his hand around the side of my neck and used his thumb to trace a hot trail along the edge of my jaw. It moved back and forth, gliding along my cool skin. His eyes never left my lips.

'Tell me if you want me to stop,' he mumbled as he leaned forward cautiously, flicking his eyes up to me before dragging them back to my lips. His head slowly bent down to inch closer to mine, taking his time. He was giving me time to reject him-to push him away and tell him not to get any nearer. To prove to him that I didn't feel the same way he did. I knew this was my final chance.

A small part of me wanted him to stop. I think he wanted me to stop him, too.

But then his even breathing got caught in his throat, and I immediately felt pressing warmth spread tingles from my lips all the way to my toes as he closed the short distance between us."
