Just get out

They both asked themselves what had happened in the few months that they had spent apart that they were back to this. Yes, they had decided on less interaction, less power couple moments, less affection on stage. But why had their relationship turned around off stage again? They didn't know. All they knew was that right now they weren't as close anymore as last year.

Maybe it was because they had given in the temptation a couple of time at the end of the tour. There had been nights they had spend with each other. They knew it had been a mistake. But after John had been diagnosed with cancer, they had somehow needed to know that they still had each other.

It had obviously been a mistake. The way Stevie had totally lost it in Vegas had shown them. But it hadn't been the moment she had pushed Lindsey away. Not even when they had announced that Christine was back with the band. Somehow it had happened between that interview and him asking her presence in the studio. She hadn't been there to this day. Instead she had vanished to Nashville to record a solo album.

And now he stood in her hotel room, and they were once more fighting. The reason why he had stormed in and started throwing snide remarks was completely lost on her though. So she had been having someone over. And yes, maybe she should have tried to keep it a little more quiet, knowing Lindsey's room was next to hers. But god damn it, first she was single and yes, she still had needs, and second Lindsey was married and shouldn't care about if and with whom she was sleeping.

"Just get out." She screamed.

God this was nerve wrecking. He really hadn't wasted time to knock on her door, screaming for her to let him in. Knowing him, and knowing that he wouldn't stop, she had just grabbed her robe, and had planned on telling him off right at the door. She hadn't thought that he was going to be as daring as actually coming in. But he had.

"So you can go back for round two?"

Her hands clawed into the neckline of her robe, Stevie took a very deep breath. Right now she wasn't very far from attacking him, and not in the good way. The need to slap him got only more after his last remark.

"JUST GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY ROOM!" She couldn't hold back anymore, shoving against his chest.

Just to keep herself from doing anything she would regret later, she turned to go back into the bedroom, but when she looked back and still saw him there, she had enough. Reaching out she didn't care what she got her hands on, as she threw it in his direction.

"LEAVE!"

It went by far past him. But it finally made him leave. And hopefully he wouldn't come back. Shaking her head, mentally counting to ten, she went back into the bedroom. The robe stayed firmly in place as she was making her way back into bed. She knew that many people wouldn't understand her choices, but recently she had stopped caring about it. If the men in this business could do whatever they wanted, she had decided that she would demand the same. If she could have been flown in to be with her then boyfriends, she could now make a call and ask someone over if she felt like it. And she did, not giving a fuck anymore what people would think if this came out felt positively liberating.

"I think we were interrupted." She smiled as she went up the bed, pulling the sheets down and came to straddle the man's legs.

"I thought we had just finished?" He teased.

"Really?" Stevie asked. "In that case..."

She was just about to roll onto her side, when she felt a pair of hands on her hips, keeping her where she was before bringing her down on him.

"I didn't say we couldn't start again." His hands came up, opening her robe, and pushing it off her shoulders.

Knowing just how pissed Lindsey would be, she didn't hold back, didn't even try to stay quiet this time.

What she didn't know was that Lindsey was currently in Christine's room, getting her opinion if he wanted or not. Had he known that this was going to happen again, he would have just said no when she had asked him if he would let her come back again. Only she wished she hadn't come back right now. She had walked right back into the same situation as she walked out of sixteen years ago, only three children and a marriage added to it.

Yes he knew that he had absolutely no right to complain about Stevie living her life the way she wanted to. That she could see whoever she wanted an do whatever she wanted. There was nothing he could do about that right now. He didn't need Christine to spell it out to him. He was the one who was married, who had a family. And only because he was still somewhat jealous when anyone else but him showed Stevie any interest it didn't mean that he had a right to pick up a fight because of that.

"Honestly, do you think I don't know that?" Lindsey had enough of being lectured.

"Do you?" She merely raised her eyebrows. "Cause I'm not convinced that you know that Stevie can do whatever she wants to. Not after what I've heard."

"What do you want?"

"I don't want anything."

"Then why am I here?"

"I'm not implying anything, you know. But maybe, just maybe, you should think about your priorities if you still react this way. If it still bums you that she's seeing someone else, maybe you should think about what that says about you. That's all I say."

Just a quick beginning of a new story. Hope you want more. Xoxo, Dani
