Ok. Try blue."

"What? But you said purple was your favorite color."

"I know I said that, but I like many colors. Not just purple."

The wall changed to blue.

"Is that OK?"

"Hmmm..."

"What?'

"Purple was better."

"Want me to-"

"Try pink."

"WHAT?"

"I'm just kidding. I like blue."

Alice was using her powers to help me redecorate my room. I didn't ask, she wanted to do it. She couldn't do the same with her own room. That counts as helping yourself. She actually was very nice, and even gave opinions on which colors I should pick and what fabrics I should use. I had no idea how she knew that, but I didn't question it.

We were coloring the sheets of the bed when I heard a knock on the door.

"I'll get it!"

I opened the door. There was Violet, with an annoyed expression on her face.

"Hi Violet. What's wrong?"

"Oh, nothing. It's just Saturday."

It took me a moment to understand what she meant, "Right! The funeral. Um..."

I quickly brushed my hair grabbed a white headband. "There. Ready. Alice?"

"Yeah Nick?

"I've got to go now. Is it OK if we continue tomorrow?"

"Sure. I'm late for breakfast anyway. Everyone is probably waiting-"

"Yes, good. Goodbye!" I grabbed Violet's wrist and dragged her to the HS classroom. We were already late enough.

Ms. John looked depressed when she first saw us. She tried to convince me that missing school for my own funeral then listed some people that have gone crazy after visiting their funerals. I ignored her and pretended like I didn't care. Then I found the perfect excuse-

"Ms. John, I'm just going for research. You're my TEACHER. Aren't you supposed to support me in schoolwork?"

She had no response.

Violet turned on the machine and we both stepped in at the same time, praying we'd spawn at the same areas. Thankfully, we both appeared at the front of the school. We ran the entire way to Ash's house.

Ash lives close to the school, but just outside the urban area of town. It was a small house, but it was like a second home to me. It was surrounded by a fence, with a swimming pool and a trampoline in the perimeter. Ash's dogs, Blaze and Sony, were being chased by Ash's brother, Brian, who was on crutches. I instantly frowned when I saw him. All he had was a broken leg. I honestly wanted to haunt him forever like ghosts in movies do. He was wearing very dark clothing, so I suspected he was coming to the funeral too. I didn't like that.

"Hey. Nick? Is that Ash's brother?" Violet nudged me.

"Yup, and as you can see, he's not dead." I sighed.

"Oh, I'm sorry for asking."

"That's OK."

Ash came out in almost right when I said that. I sighed when I saw her. She didn't have anything broken. The broken arm that the computer detected when I first came to Angel Academy was a false alarm. All she got were some bruises and scratches, thankfully.
