If only his father had been the type of villain you see on television, a criminal with no remorse or empathy, a caricature of evil who hurt people for no other reason than enjoyment. It would be so easy to hate him if that had just been the case. But the simple truth is that his father could do a hundred horrible things, but a single act of kindness was all it took for Shoto to forget them all. Or: Shoto takes his future into his own bloodied hands, for better or worse.
