In 1987, Elijah and the woman he loved had a little baby girl, but the mother died due to her not being able to carry children. Elijah wanted to raise her himself but was afraid that Klaus will kill her so he did the one thing and that was to hand her off. He left her with a note explaining why and that he loves her.

17 years later, Alanis Swan and her big sister are moving to Forks. Alanis is excited as she gets to continue her ballet. Only thing she wishes for is to meet her real dad. She understands why he gave her up and everything. All she wants is to see him.

When she gets to Forks she meets the big teddy bear Emmett Cullen, who is her soulmate. This is Alanis Mikaelson- Swan's story.
